Please can someone tell me where they're finding these? I've searched high and low and can't find them anywhere!

I got mine in Tescos when they were on offer a few weeks back, but there hasn't been any there for a while.
I did manage to get some in Somerfields too but again none there, now either.
    BUT
when you do find them you'll know it's what you're after as there's a Quantum tablet on the side
Good Luck tomorrow and in finding the moc
  • I had such a lovely young man serve me last week. I handed over my coupons expecting a row but no, he even typed in the barcodes of the ones that wouldn't scan by main or hand scanner, saying 'My Mum uses coupons too, it's better than staff discount' LOL 'Go him' I say :j :j

I did have one problem with Cs, I bought 2 boxes of cerial that were on the end of the isle with a big BOGOF sign on each shelf and above ( Sugar puffs £2.99 and Shreddies £ 1.96 ) I asked a member of staff that was filling the shelves if i could mix the offfer for one of each and not 2 the same and she said "Yes, the cheapest will come off at the till) Later checked my receipt and they were not taken off, so i went to Cs and the woman said she would check and told me i had to buy 2 the same!! I told her i asked a member of staff but she didnt care! she told me to bring them back for a refund or keep them!!

I asked why they were displayed the way they were as it was misleading the customer to be told that head office tells them where to put signs. and that was it!

wondering should i complain and write to H.O or not??

I get the feeling Tesco try this tactic A LOT!!! I've been caught a couple of times buying stuff that APPEARS to be BOGOF only to find that two or three different BOGOF lines have been put in one place, without making it clear that you can't mix and match. I stood behind a bloke at the till once who had a similar row with the checkout operator over toothbrushes - he'd taken two that were each on their own BOGOF deal and been charged full price for both. I guess they think that if 50% of the customers don't return items after noticing they've not got a BOGOF they were expecting, then they've had a result.

They do the same with baby food. They have it on 10 for £5, 10 for £4, and 10 for £4.50 variously, but if you take a mixture, you don't get the discount, and it's not made THAT clear.

Just managed to print this one this morning - so def something about how many they allow in the day - try first thing if you're not having any luck.

Going back to how much it costs to print a sheet. I know from being self employed that the HMRC allow you costs of 6p per sheet - not sure quite what that's based on, but might not be hammering the colour ink to print coupons!

2 or 3 years ago, my local Tesco used to accept only 5 coupons as well. It's not much of a saving though is it, and TBH you may be better off shopping somewhere that has cheaper prices even without coupon-use? I know I would certainly have voted with my feet long ago, if my locals had not changed with the national policy.

When HO sent a 'CS Update' (a store directive dated June 2007, it went to all CS Managers in all stores) stating the coupon policy as we know and love it, myself and other people who used coupons locally drew it to their attention. Has no-one pointed out the national policy to the Managers in your local, red arrow? Maybe they should?!;)

Have to say it's not easy to do. You do get some horribly rude answers from ignorant staff, and some Managers don't listen. But if you can find just one person with clout in your store, who does listen and is willing to look into the matter, then it's worth it.

Fair comment, though my savings add up- especially when I do several small shops, using as many larger coupons as I can get my hands on- However, whilst my local store is `coupon friendly`, at present, 3 others in my area, have taped up the coupon slots on their SS tills, & only on the weekend, my DD was told by a ( young ) MOS,(manned till) that it wasn`t Tesco policy to take MOC`s, proceeding to wave some I`d given her, in front of the till, saying `look, they don`t scan`. My DD was left feeling humiliated, as she wasn`t confident enough to call for a supervisor (wish I`d been with her!), so I feel it`s best not to rock the boat- I`m still very happy with my savings, despite them perhaps not being as large as some are getting- they are still savings, after all!!

You have a valid point babyj3 - The prices quoted are I assume for HP ink and IMHO you are best to continue using genuine cartridges especially if it was an expensive printer. I think you are in the best position to answer your own query. Next time you replace the carts try and keep a note of how many moc's you get out of that set and then do a bit of basic maths...Unfortunately my HP inkjet does not have any 'page count' software as on most lasers so it's not going to be an easy or quick answer to your question!!

I am in the lucky position where I don't actually pay for my consumables <Cough> so I have never done any calculations but I would say a 20p coupon is definitely borderline!

A very rough 'finger in the air' calculation I would estimate 400-500 pages per set of HP carts and given that you are paying 4400 pence for them brings it to around 10p per page. It's probably less but I would say at least 7p/page

Perhaps Mad could be more accurate cos he seems to know a lot about inks/paper etc
Ooooh tricky one:o Can't give you a definitive answer as this involves too many variants i.e. cost of ink, quality of paper, colours used, printing quality etc. However I'd guestimate that if you can't print a 20p coupon to size A6 (four on a sheet) overall, it's probably not worth the bother. You could print these all day long in photo quality (no don't do it!) and you'd still save money HTH:beer:
