awe peeps, I must be doing something wrong.

When I read of some of you peeps getting shopping down to 2p, 5p, 10p from a £40 or £50 shop, I am in awe of how this can be managed. The Lidl £5 + FF £2.50 at the moment is no good to me because together with pdf's and a few others this only takes me to around £19, which would still leave me total =£11 to pay. (Lidl total spend £30) So, I am better off doing small shops at a time.
I've only been at this coupon 'job' for past 6/7 weeks so I suppose I still have a lot to learn...

Well done to everyone who can manage this and also I am still soooo grateful for the money which i do save.

Thanks to everyone that contibutes to this thread.

  • I, too, am always in awe of the major savings people make- must be great only having pence to pay! However, my Tesco only accepts 5 coupons, but I`m still very grateful for that, as my savings, though not as spectacular, are still much appreciated- every little helps!!!

What I do is sign up for all the freebies that are posted by gill:T and on the freebies board and keep all the mocs I receive with these, plus any that are with the goods like the rinsaid £3 (I have 30) and then do a big shop with them every month or so or when the mail or lidl coupons are around. I do little shops with all the others the rest of the time.
Don't forget to sign up for all the mocs by post on the first page.
    Hope this helps
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

2 or 3 years ago, my local Tesco used to accept only 5 coupons as well. It's not much of a saving though is it, and TBH you may be better off shopping somewhere that has cheaper prices even without coupon-use? I know I would certainly have voted with my feet long ago, if my locals had not changed with the national policy.

When HO sent a 'CS Update' (a store directive dated June 2007, it went to all CS Managers in all stores) stating the coupon policy as we know and love it, myself and other people who used coupons locally drew it to their attention. Has no-one pointed out the national policy to the Managers in your local, red arrow? Maybe they should?!;)

Have to say it's not easy to do. You do get some horribly rude answers from ignorant staff, and some Managers don't listen. But if you can find just one person with clout in your store, who does listen and is willing to look into the matter, then it's worth it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all , hope everyone has had a good day,
I did my 2nd shop using coupons today managed to use my £5 lidl and £2.50 FF coupons and a few others and saved £20! :j
I think this is fantastic as im sure a lot of people has been struggling lately.

I did have one problem with Cs, I bought 2 boxes of cerial that were on the end of the isle with a big BOGOF sign on each shelf and above ( Sugar puffs £2.99 and Shreddies £ 1.96 ) I asked a member of staff that was filling the shelves if i could mix the offfer for one of each and not 2 the same and she said "Yes, the cheapest will come off at the till) Later checked my receipt and they were not taken off, so i went to Cs and the woman said she would check and told me i had to buy 2 the same!! I told her i asked a member of staff but she didnt care! she told me to bring them back for a refund or keep them!!

I asked why they were displayed the way they were as it was misleading the customer to be told that head office tells them where to put signs. and that was it!

wondering should i complain and write to H.O or not??

I have done my 1st coupon shop.

I only used coupons that MrT sent me from the parent & baby club.

I managed to get £44 worth of shopping for £11 (but i still got points for £44 as i remembered to give my clubcard first)

Young man was very happy to take my vouchers, he even asked if i had any more and he would keep scanning them, only 1 beeped which he gave me back for use next time.

I was very pleased with my shop and i cant wait to try it again when i get more MOC's.

Thanks for all the advice and encouraging me to give it a go.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Hi all. I've been reading through the threads here and have 3 "when you spend" coupons that I'm going to try using at Tesco. One is from the Tesco cc mailing so I know I won't have problems with that one, bit I also have ones from Co-Op and Farm Foods. Will they take those as well? Off the same shop when my total shop after the Tesco voucher will have reduced by £3?

I didn't get off to a good start, as I only got £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers this mailing as I have sort of abandoned Tesco due to prices and I went in to double it up to help towards school bits and was told that I should have read the small print as they only double up amounts of £5 :embarasse:embarasse Lucky it was only £2.50!

you can always try hon, dont ask dont get, thats my motto;)

in my store they have the shreddies on their own on bogof so i cant comment, but if you asked a member of staff and they told you different you could always email to that effect.

usually on a bogof the items you buy have to be exactly the same price so i think you were given bad information

by the way a warm welcome to you, you will visit here every day now, and not to just find coupons but to join in the fun on this freindly thread;)

I 'revisited' this last week and emailed Walls' about this but as yet no definite reply other than to say it had been passed to the 'Brand Team' but as yet no reply from them

I also mentioned the £5 one but again but again no reply!

Perhaps a couple of others could try and maybe they will have the courtesy to reply properly seeing as I was trying to stop them getting thousands of dud coupons! (More worried about my T's policy really though! :rotfl:)

which £5 would this be i seem to have totally missed it?!
