Yep definitely a good idea, I knew to write off the time I was in Devon and I think because I'd already mentally done that I found it easier to get back on track once I got back, normally once I have one bad day thats it and it leads to another and another, but by expecting it in advance it wasn't a problem and I'm feeling more motivated to keep going again nowMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

I was thinking the same thing - 25p from V used to be the norm, now it is something to get very excited about!
I had a poor day, foodwise, on Friday - it would have been my Dad's birthday and I suddenly had this urge to eat crap.....and lots of it......but it did remind me that my emotional issues around food are not resolved, and I have to be more than aware of it. I am thinking that perhaps I will just "expect" those days - I know which ones are likely to cause me a problem, such as anniversaries and birthdays that I now miss - and perhaps point accordingly in the run up so that I can write off that particular day without guilt, giving into my emotions a bit. What do you reckon?
Hypno - I'm not sure how much you have to lose (and it's none of my business) but there is nothing wrong with writing off days at all IMO. I'm trying to shift seven stone and have purposely waited until my head is straight in other areas before attemting to lose what amounts to around a third of my body weight.
I'm also mentally "sorted" now to realise that in the year it will take me to lose the weight, I will have days like you had on Friday where I just don't want to eat properly. You just need to accept these days will happen, encounter them and move on.
When I last went to a Slimming World class, I'm sure they used to do something called "Flexi-Sins" whereby you could have a day like that without spoiling your plan. I used to be allowed 15 sins a day but my class leader said there was nothing wrong with changing that to 105 sins a week.
Good luck anyway, I wish you well.:T:D0 -
Thanks, both. I know that I won't ever be completely free of these crappy days, and it will be some time before my head is properly in the right place....especially with the stuff that has happened this year...but I am definitely more focused on it, and paying more attention to the deeper issues behind the bad days or the "lost control" days than before, meaning that getting back on track is a little easier each time.
I've only got another stone or so to lose, having lost a stone already, so in the grand scheme of things it is not the end of the world, but it is as much about feeling in control and not trying to be unrealistic in my expectations (emotionally as well as physically) and I think progress is being made!
Matched bet for £4 done for me too.....every little helps!
(and I had a mug punt on Norwich getting promotion earlier in the season which has also paid out too.....happy days)

You just reminded me to go and make some more soup:beer:
Do you do any different 0 point sups? I always just make BNS, carrot and onion, but think I might get a tad bored of it eventually;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Thats the only one I've done so far Milly but I'm going to look for a red pepper recipe, am guessing it will be the same kinda thing just with peppers obviously
I did sneak a peek on the scales again this morning and they reckon I have lost 2lbs since yesterday  Now while I know this isn't likely and I'm not counting it until official weigh-in day next weekend, it is a great motivator and would mean only another 1/2lb to get to a stone :j

Ooooooh well done! I do sneaky peeks too (most days:o) but I'm still the same as last wed - am not impressed;) So soup for tomorrow's dinner, while my girls have a rather lovely pasta bake with chicken, bacon, mushrooms and single cream sauce....that'll need some will power to resist:D
Am a happy bunny right now though as I've just checked my banking and my student loan's gone in....so paid off a credit card, £1200, Next got £100...now look at my sig:T I could pay off the rest, but I like to have some savings (I know Martin says not if you have debt, but I *might* want a last minute holiday in August)....happy with under £1k now:beer:
Anyway, off to update my diary rather than hijack yours:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I make one using two red peppers (roast and take skin off), a litre of stock and a carton of passata, just simmer together for a wee while then let cool and zoosh in the blender - would eat it even if I wasn't dieting. Makes about four bowls BTW:).Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
