Thankyou Llamahead (don't disappear into lurkdom, stay in the sunshine
), right, I have had a mass delete session in the inbox and am down to 37, which I will sort through properly in the morning.
We were supposed to come back tomorrow, but decided to leave tonight, we've had a lovely time, but this way we don't have to be up early to join in with the mass exodus of the site, and ds is going to his dads tomorrow teatime, so it would have been an awful lot of travelling in one day for him, so we decided to wait until 8pm and set off then, and ds slept in the car nearly all the way.
The site was actually lovely, despite all my nerves beforehand it was very clean and much better than Butlins without a doubt. We did go on a bit of a train-fest for ds but we also had loads of fun doing things like playing cricket on the beach (which was a beautiful beach despite lots of dodgy reports on the internet about it), loads of swimming .... and ds managed to shed the armbands totally and do about 5-10 metres :j :j I am sooo pleased as I was beginning to think that he was never gonna get there but he was so proud of himself
The caravan was a bit chilly at night, but other than that there were no complaints at all, I haven't been too bad foodwise although I have had quite a few treats, so am expecting the scales not to be good tomorrow morning, but hey, I was on holidayMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

BB - please save me from going back through dozens of pages to find out. Did you go to Devon Cliffs near Exmouth - i'm sure you said you did....:D
If so, it's a lovely camp which I'm off to with the twins in October half term...:j.
By the issues with the beach, I'm guessing you're talking about the green algae that forms there. I've been there four or five times and only seen it once but you just have to go further along the beach away from the camp and it calms down a bit after a while.0 -
Morning
Yes Mart, we went to Devon Cliffs, I'd read quite a lot of reviews of it online and they tended to be very negative tbh but actually we had no complaints whatsoever with the placeThe beach was lovely, we didn't see any algae at all, it was just gorgeous sand. The best bit we found was the beach at Exmouth, it was like a proper old-fashioned seaside and had the worlds biggest gauge 00 model railway ehich only cost £5.50 for the 4 of us to go in, then there was a playpark area that was fantastic value for ds, for £2 they could go on the zipwires, huge bumpy slides, wooden climbing apparatus etc all day, then they had other rides that needed tokens but were still gret value compared with the amusements onsite, they had quad bikes for £1 a go which lasted about 5 minutes which ds loved. We also went on the big swan pedallo things which were £1.50 each, although ds couldn't reach the pedals, so I got some exercise by having to pedal the thing by myself
I would definitely recommend a trip there when you go, its a cheap day out, the beach is just the other side of the road too
I've just done the post holiday weigh-in and the result is that I've put on ... 1lbI'm happy enough with that, a day or two of point counting again and hopefully we'll be back to where we were :T
So todays plan ... lots of washing, a trip to the post office to post ebay parcel, a trip to the sorting office to collect another parcel, a trip to tescos as the food cupboards are empty and a nice hot bathMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
