Just made £3 profit from a matched bet and been really naughty and nugged £20 on the National :eek: I must admit I've always liked a flutter on it, my Grandad always encouraged us to when we were kids, he'd buy us all some smarties, then we'd count how many we had and would bet 5 each, and whoevers horse won (or finished ahead of anyone elses who was betting smarties) would win them all Its one of those lovely childhood memories and I always think of him when the National is on
I've been quite sensible though and have bet on 10 different horses at £1 each way, and have done it at a bookies where they refund your stake if the horse doesn't finish, so theres a good chance of recouping something somewhere along the way

Done another qualifying bet (on footie this time, not the national), which will get me a free £5 bet at the end of the week

Hypno et al, check your whill accounts, click on messages and there may be one there about a £5 vegas offer, today only. Basically, bet a fiver on roulette or blackjack and if it loses you get it refunded on monday, if it wins you keep the winnings I bet £5 on evens on roulette and lost, but hey, was worth a shot

Did any of your horses come in BB? we had a £2 bet each but nothing here.

Yay I love the National, 5 of the 10 horses I backed didn't finish so I should get £10 refunded there, and 1 of the other 5 I think didn't finish either but I need to confirm that, but could be another £2 refunded there, and the other 4 came 1st, 3rd, 4th and somewhere near the end, meaning a total profit so far of £28.25 :j :j :j Thanks Grandad :T
