You're getting carried away because it is feasible and this is what you have been working towards. How exciting!

Pinklady - have you just re-subscribed under a new user name?
  • I'm getting excited for you BB, I know you mentioned about DS wanting a dog, would that persuade you to move quicker. We got a dog from the pound just over a week ago. I feel so less stressed about the little every day things in life now. I know they say pets help you to relax more, and the kids absolutely love him, not sure about being money saving though. Plus we all get so much more exercise.

Well once I'd collected ds we popped in to mum and dads and ended up staying for roast dinner ;):) While I was there I kinda mentioned the subject of houese, and we've agreed that if the mortgage company say its feasible to lend me up to £60k then mum and dad will lend me another £20k which would make it do-able I think :j I would pay their money back first before I overpay any of the mortgage, and I would include interest at a better rate than their getting on their savings. Mum also said that realistically, with my grandad being 93, that there will be an inheritance coming to them in the not so distant future so they won't be in a huge rush for the money back but I'd still want to get theirs paid back asap.

So ... its looking like theres a possibility of it happening, its still just a small maybe/what if but its still worth investigating whether its do-able. So, my plan at the moment is to (a) make every penny possible, ebay/surveys etc till the cows come home ;), (b) start cleaning / tidying the flat/garage like crazy, (c) speak to the mortgage company and find out how much they would lend me and get a valuation on the flat :):) It could still all come to nothing but it still feels exciting all the same :D
