Morning :D Forgot to mention yesterday that I decided to turn the heating off, the bill i got this week was stupidly high so thats it, we'll see if we can cope without it again. I'm not sure we will be able to, but perhaps it will only go on when necessary now rather than being permanently on low.

The flat is looking 80% tidy this morning which is nice, I need to finish it and also get something to give to mum and dad for lunch. Also need to make sure ds has finished writing up his homework. Yesterday he found a pack of cards so we played several games of snap and I taught him how to play sevens which he loved so maybe a bit more of that later too :)

10p on the scratches today, need to make sure all my money is in the right places before the start of the new month too ;)

Well its the end of the first month of the year and overall I'm pleased with my progress financially so far. I haven't managed to make £10 a day, but this was expected, (I'm aiming for £10 a day and then all the shortfalls need to be made up in the school holidays throughout the year ;)), however this month I have been able to save almost £1500 into the mortgage pot :T This means that for the rest of the year the £10 a day is all I need to find, well when I say *all* I'm not suggesting that is going to be easy, but its a lot better than it was going to be a month ago ;)

So, after one month I'm £115 down on target, but I break up for a week off school in 12 days time. My aim for February is to achieve the £10 a day for the whole month, its a short month so £280 to find over the month although the week off should mean I've got some extra time to make a few more pennies ;):)

Looking good so far, benben!! I am sure Feb will do exactly what it needs to do.

Woohoo, I did a matched bet earlier that was a bit of a gamble really, well Rooney has scored so its all worked out good for me and thats £17 profit coming my way  Hmm, now does that go into January or Februarys figures?? :o I think it will have to go into Januarys (clearly it is still January but I had kind of finished off the month in my head and was ready to crack on with the next one), yep definitely January which at least means its a bit less to find later in the year for Januarys deficit :)

We've had another nice relaxing day today; mum and dad came round and had dinner, then we taught ds to play patience. I've done the ironing :j, had my bath, attacked my eyebrows and am just sorting ds dinner then he's in the bath then bed ;)

Once he's in bed my plan is to look at the finances tonight and the budget for February :)

You always expected that there would be some months when you wouldn't hit the £10 a day target though didn't you BB - you'll make it up during holiday times I bet.

I bet DS's face was a picture when the Air Ambulance came in wasn't it?!

He loved it EH, saw on the local news today that it was an 88yr old man crossing the road and was hit by an 81yr old woman driver who didn't see him :o

Another item has just sold on ebay so thats another £6 into the pot, its turned out to be a good money day today to end the month which is good news :T So January has now finished on £218/£310, so a deficit of £92 to make up.
