We've been out all morning delivering cards and parcels, dropped in to a friends for a coffee and then went round to visit my friend who's other half left. She looked shattered and tearful, her parents are coming to stay tomorrow. He's being a complete s*d to her, won't speak to her, tell her where he's staying or anything, phone constantly switched off etc ...

We've just had lunch and now we're going to make some cakes, I've got some in a book which look nice and easy, basically a victoria sponge cake made in a square tin, then cut into thin triangles, covered in green butter icing, add a few smarties and a chunk of flake at the base and viola, a christmas tree fairy cake :D:D

Oops, nearly forgot, before that we need to get one last pressie wrapped; we have a big issue seller who stands at the end of our driveway (hopefully he'll find a new patch before I get round to selling my flat!), and we've go him a box of goodies for xmas, a small bottle of wine, a mini christmas cake, a bag of choc coins and some bits and pieces from the cupboard that we won't eat (readymade jellies that ds insisted he loved then never touched etc). Not much really but its the thought and all that, and want to teach ds the importance of giving to those who need more than just the commercial nonsense of xmas ...

    Hi,

I have been lurking reading your diary for a while. Just wanted to say that is such a lovely thing to do, really teaches your son the importance of giving. That warmed my heart. Have a great christmas!

That is a really nice thing to do benben, and as you say, teaches DS quite a lot too.

54p tracked on quidco today for 2 lambswool jumpers I treated myself to from Debenhams sale, (£7 each :D), always handy for work and some of mine are getting pretty tatty now.

I've had my bath, we've got thunderstorms here now  The snow seems to have by-passed our area completely, a bit of ice here and there but thats all.

Ds and I made the xmas tree cakes and they look fab, I'm really pleased with them. I put a couple in a giftbox and will take round to my nans tomorrow.

So, at last, we're nearly there!! I must admit I'm getting more excited about getting some sale bargains and starting the new year than I am about christmas, must try harder, must try harder :o:o

Forgot to add, when we were out earlier I picked up a couple of boxes of xmas cards reduced to 50p each, and a really cute christmas embroidery set, its like a paint by numbers thing but with thread if that makes sense, again reduced to 50p. That will go into ds xmas eve hamper ready for tomorrow once it starts getting dark, which reminds me, must do the reindeer food tonight :D:D
