Incidentally I hope all you speccie fans frequent http://www.zxspectrum.net/ for nostalgic memories, you can play all of them on there ;)

Noooo. My evening is now ruined as I relive my childhood...
Daley Thompsons Decathlon and the broken keyboard with the constant battering.

    ARRRGGHH JET SET WILLY.
    I am genuinely excited.

Have you guys never heard of emulators?

I downloaded a program that lets you emulate the c64 on your pc, and then you can download a series of games in .tap format (old tape format) or d64 format (d64). It's such a blast from the past,.

If anyone wants a hand doing it, drop me a message. It's really easy.. Manic Miner is within your grasp, as is jet set willy, paperboy, paradroid, wizball..........

I started with a ZX81 before getting a speccie, which didn't have a save feature, in fact to play a game you "programmed" it in, up until the nasty "E out of memory" popped up ;)

I also had a ZX81. I was really posh though so had a 16k RAM pack to boost the 1k.

Crikey it wouldn't be able to handle one email now.

Lol, I remember eventually buying a 16k ram pack for mine, but as you remember if you did so much as breathed on the zx81 with that HUGE monstrosity in the back, it went "Pffffffffffffffffft dit" meaning "start allover again" ;)

Additional - Wow, one WHOLE Kilobyte,

Talking about COD and how much it costs though I'm sure you don't complain when you pay for the 'map packs'. Like in COD:World at war there are currently 2 map packs costing around £10 each so you have just paid £40 for the game and then an additional £20 for the extras. Bearing in mind that you might say that they are an optional extra but have you ever tried to play multiplayer with 6 maps missing?!? You get kicked out half the time! Oh and who would want to miss out on the amazing zombie maps?!?...

    Total £10628.86
    All paid off! 10/03/2009 :j

In 1996 many of the Nintendo64 games were £64.99, others even more. (Turok was over 70 quid IIRC)

No computer console game will ever be worth me spending over £10 for, theres far too many "real life" items my hard earned cash has to pay for to justify it.

However, whilst people are prepared to pay such extravagant prices for a game, software companies will always charge such prices. That's the way of the World.

Just wait a few weeks and it'll be in pre-owned for about £35.

Just divide the cost of the game by how many hours you are likely to spend on it. Good games are extraordinary value. I've probably put in 100hours on cod modern warfare. I bought it second hand for £30. Thats 30p an hour.

Anyway, never buy a new release. Have some patience. 6months later they are half the price.
