http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/gadgets_and_gaming/article6728189.ece

expect it now cost £55

i have it pre ordered and not happy about it , but

they can get away with this because i will pay it , and so will most others . why ?

because COD is like a very addictive drug , i have to have my almost daily fix of XBOX live COD multplayer . and i won't miss out out on hundreds upon hundreds of hours of fun for £10 , when the new comes out . no . i'll pay the extra and they know i will GRRRRR :mad::mad:

hundreds upon hundreds of hours for £10
seems like good value? No one forces you to buy that game

  • Not strictly true. GAME are charging £44.99 for the standard edition and there is a £3 off £30 code so essentially that would bring the price down to £41.99 which is only £2 more than a normal new release title, plus with GAME from previous experience with pre-orders you get the game delivered 2 days in advance of the street date plus they won't change the price of what you paid for your pre-order if it goes up. ;)

They've decided to make people pay more in advance, not good, but better than what they were talking about earlier - pay per month to play; which is a lot less attractive.

And with Game if you pre-order you also get double points. Plus as ExNicotineQueen said they usually deliver a day or two before release :-)

You could always rent it from Love Film. If you got the cheapest package at £4 a month and found a two months trial and had £10 cashback from cashback sites you could rent it for a year for less than it costs new.

Amazon are charging £44 for it too. I will probs wait a few weeks to a month after it comes out and get it second hand from amazon for about £30-35

The COD games are not really ones that you rent as even with COD4, even now 2 years after release I still regularly see loads of people playing this online in my friends list.

I actually heard this story back in March but as I guessed correctly, most retailers would drop their prices closer to release date. The main point is, it won’t cost £55. ;)

When I was young my dad made me wait till the £9.99 Spectrum games were re-released as £2.99 games. The hardships that kids have to endure nowadays don't even come close to that but I can appericate the pain your going through.
