Wow the memorys, you just reminded me of the time i wanted Tresure Island Dizzy and i have to wait for it to be reduced to £2.99, anyway back on topic, im buying this verson of the games to make up for not being able to have that 9.99 dizzy game!!!

That's the version my BF wants for Xmas. Like me he's always after the special editions - although I'm more a Tomb Raider and Fable girl myself :T

I used to love Dizzy too! My Dad used to buy the magazines that had a free spectrum tape on the front with a a demo level for each new game - if we wanted a proper game we had to wait for Xmas / birthday or save our pocket money

When I was young my dad made me wait till the £9.99 Spectrum games were re-released as £2.99 games. The hardships that kids have to endure nowadays don't even come close to that but I can appericate the pain your going through.

If I remember, speccy games were always £8.99 and commodore 64 games were ALWAYS £1 more!!!! I never did find out why that was the case.

I think Commodore 64 owners were always better off people than us Spectrum underclass. Although obviously the Spectrum was a more superior computer.

I had a C64 and remember those days when you had to wait about 20 mins for a game to load.........

Then when the tapes went duff that was it.

I can't remember the last time I actually paid the 'proper' price for a new game!

Between Amazon and the fact that Tesco sometimes reduces brand new titles for a few days when they first come out (but you have to be quick because they always put the price up again) I just would not pay more than £40 for a game ever.

Mind you these days I don't really care about having a game on the day it comes out - although I did for Uncharted and Resident Evil 4 and 5!!!

Sometimes it is better to wait a bit I got the last MGS for less than £20 a couple of months ago.

Just ordered Dead Space from Amazon at £9.99 there are some serious bargains out there!

I started with a ZX81 before getting a speccie, which didn't have a save feature, in fact to play a game you "programmed" it in, up until the nasty "E out of memory" popped up ;)

Incidentally I hope all you speccie fans frequent http://www.zxspectrum.net/ for nostalgic memories, you can play all of them on there ;)
