Well done K9 - we have entered a fun run in October so we can keep up the momentum too. Perhaps we should start another thread Who wants to become a real good runner :O)

Good idea Claudia, I splashed out on (which I shouldn't of!) a £12 photo album.. it's going to be my running portfolio! First 3 pages full.. it's going to be my motivation to keep going!!!

Well my RfL was Saturday and I did it!! I must be the text book Running Made Easy template girl as I crossed the line in 41 minutes. I was desperately trying for 40 but there were hills, and thousand of people, and it was hot and and and ......but 41 minutes for someone who couldn't jog in April...I am so chuffed I can't describe it.

The day was fantastic. There was such a mix of women, and stories and memories I felt truly humbled.

I have found a local 10k race in 11 weeks time...I can hear the call! Any one else up for a challenge?!

Fantastically done, both of you!! I'm so impressed! I would use the clappy smilie if i remember the code for it it (don't ask - am on tempremental computer)!

I'm struggling to keep it up at the moment and have strayed from the programme. I'm utterly exhausted these days for various reasons and can't get up to go running before work cause i'd rather sleep. Then there doesn't seem to be enough time to go in the evening. I'm sure things'll settle down in a week or two and i'll get back into the routine but i've only been running 5 times in the last three weeks :o

Am buying new trainers though as mine are falling apart after years of neglect and then sudden, frequent use! And i promise to use them and everything.

No I am still here and still running :O) Well I was until this week - hot hot hot!!

We did the Sport Relief mile on Saturday, I intended to slow jog it with my 6 year old but he took off like a shot and left me in his dust LOL He finished in an unbelieveable 8 minutes, me in 12. It was a grass field and we had to do 4 1/2 laps - he was always at least half a lap in front.

I wanted to start the 10 week 10km plan this week but only did Monday - was tired from Sport Relief and just too hot and bothered since then. May go out tomorrow morning if I can sleep tonight. We have said we will go tomorrow even if we just walk. But I feel really sluggish since I stopped the 4 days a week jogging (the week before RfL we just did 2 long jogs).

K9 you are really going for it - well done! I don't think I could manage it without the rest day every other day - my legs really get too sore. I am trying desperately to run for longer spurts before walking, I am getting better but still haven't passed the 4 minute mark. I guess 3 months ago I never thought I would manage 2 minutes but I want to be like Zola Budd :O)

And Jen - get the motivational chapter from Running Made Easy back out next week when the weather breaks. Keep it up and you will feel all the better for it - you have had a really good start and you know you can do it!!

Oh - I raised £260 for cancer research in memory of my friend who passed away in April. That has really made me proud.
Now will someone please turn down the thermostat!

Claudie, I was chatting to a friend as work (Who's fitness mad and given me loads of motivation) she said just get used to muscles aching! If you work them well they should, see it as a good thing and enjoy it!!

    My plan this week:

Monday - Steady 5km (non stop and completed in 45mins)
    Tuesday - Fartleck 1.5 miles
    Wed - Cycle 6 miles
    Thurs - REST
Friday - FAST 1-2 Mile Run
    Saturday - Cycle 6 miles
    Sunday - REST

I done my 5km last night and I must admit the cycling has really helped improve my fitness already!!! I could of run more then 5km but have decided to increase my Monday run's 10% each week up to 8km. Should leave me with 2 weeks of 8km running before my race! Using my special K watch I burned 853 calories in 1 run! I was amazed!!! My head phone wires split half way through my run which made it abit more boring!!

I've gone and bought me a cycle helmet and light and have decided to start swimming when I hit my target weight! All is well here!

    How are you all doing??
