Thanks for that wanna...great site, I loved the calorie counter as well.

We had our practice run this morning - we did 2 circuits around a local park and took 45 minutes for 7.5 km - roughly equal running and walking in 2 or 3 minute stretches. I was so pleased with myself as some of the girls have been running for ages and while I was a bit slower than them, I didn't really embaress myself :O)

Did realise when driving somewhere to run I need a belt or bag of some type to hold my keys. One of the girls had a belt with a built in bottle holder and key holder. As I am finishing my 10 week effort I think I may buy one as my reward.

I may try wiggle.co.uk - anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks K9cuddles. When I first started out I must admit I did think I would be able to actually run 5km without walking but I now see how hard that really is! You real runners make it look so easy. But I am well pleased with my progress.

We got to chatting to 2 ladies who finished the route about the same time as us - they had run one lap around the park in 15 minutes with only 1 short walking stretch. I was so jealous! We have decided to keep going once RfL is finished and we are going to do a 10km fun run in Sept and the Moonwalk next May.

    Good luck tomorrow.

Well my RfL is a week today! Omg.. not long now!!!

10k by Sept I am impressed! As your aiming for that I'm defo gotta stick with my 2x 8km races. As you say you have to just keep motivated to keep going! I do feel kinda scared entering a race!! RfL seems to attract a bit variety of people, I'm worried that the others I enter are gonna be really serious and I'm gonna be last back with a hooge time gap!!!

Well I have finished my Zest plan and wanted to share the results.

End of the 10 week plan (a few weeks I repeated so it became more like a 12-13 week plan) I have lost 10 lbs, 2 inches off my chest, 2 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips. But more than that I have learned to run!!! I have always wanted to learn to run but was too scared/fat/old/unfit/wobbly etc etc but I did it. And if I can do it, trust me, anybody can. I did cut out junk food through the week as well and I have stopped my Friday night wine habit which I am sure helped.

I still can't do long stretches of running but I have gone from 30 seconds or so in week one to staying out 40 minutes and jogging half of that thru jog/walk. And I really intend to keep it up as a long term thing.

A big thanks for all of the encouragement and tips and messages. And as this is a money saving thread I will sign off with a new website I had recommended to me for a waist belt. If you see a mature lady running up the road (looking like she should be at home with a vino) wearing a pink bottle holder....it may be me :O)

Thanks again and good luck to all the upcoming RfLers

    Well done Claudia!

Well I had my final training session yesterday! I took it easy but my partner for the first time managed 3 miles nonstop running so I'm really proud of her!

Roll on Sunday... apparently it's going to be BAKING!! Typical! :( Seems weird after all this training that the race is nearly here!

I done it! I done it! I done it! I'm sooooooooooo chuffed!! In 28c I finished in 37mins! Which is amazing as I found it really hard to pace myself in the heat with all the other people!! I had to walk few times.. but I'm soooo glad I done it under my personal aim of 40mins! Infact it's my personal best! :D
