i wonder if we are going to the same place:D
im looking for the same date but from Manchester!
If there are no cheap through Advance fares available, you could get a Virgin Only ticket to Stoke-on-Trent (£11 Anytime Return), change there for a London Midland stopping service via Northampton. A London Midland Only Super Off Peak Return is £22.50.

Yorkie, is there a discount code to get that price, as last time I looked they had risen to £23.50

Not quite sure what you mean by day saver - if a travelcard the answer depends how much travelling about you are likely to do but is almost certainly yes - either that or an Oyster.

If that is the total of your public transport travel, then just buy single tickets for each journey.

On the tube: £4.00 each person per trip cash, or £1.90 each with an Oyster card.

On buses: £2.20 each person per ride cash, or £1.30 each with an Oyster card.
  • My daughter wants to come and visit me but we are struggling to find a decent trasin fare for her, her dates are flexible from 10th october till 21st October, she would like to stay fro around 4 or 5 days. The journey would be from Glasgow to Telford. Any help would be greatly appreciated x

Depends what you mean by 'decent' and whether your expectations are realistic

Is she eligible for a railcard? That will knock a third off the walkon return fare of £110+

Advance tickets may be available - I spotted one at £39.50 single but didn't trawl though all your date range but that suggests it could come down to under £80 if you are flexible enough. The theoretical minimum fare is £16 each way but availability will be near nil
