Let us know how you get on with CC.
  • Trying to work out the cheapest way to get from Attleborough to Cambridge on a daily basis. For the last year i have had a season ticket that cost about £2900, but i have noticed their is a ticket called an Anglia Plus, that would get me from Cambridge to Thetford, for £1700, (sorry not allowed to post links, but its on NRE's site) which is one stop before Attleborough.

Adding the Norfolk zone onto the ticket, to allow me to travel onto Attleborough would bring it up to £2880, which for a ten minute journey is an annoying price hike.

Are there any other magical ticket combinations that would allow me to take advantage of the excellently priced Anglia Plus and also allow me to stay on the train the extra stop. I've considered driving that bit further to Thetford but parking and fuel costs would quickly wipe out any savings.

Save yourself £40 by getting a yearly Anglia Plus Cambridge zone at £1700 and an annual season ticket between Attleborough and Thetford for £1140.

If you ever go into the Norfolk zone, e.g. to Norwich at weekends, then it might be worth that extra £40 to get an Anglia plus covering Cambridge and Norfolk.

    Sorry, can't see anything cheaper.

Try Megabus, just had a quick search and you can get a return for £32 (2x adults) Manchester, Shudehill Interchange to London, Victoria Coach Station takes longer than the train but saves a fortune.

Then use an Oyster card or 1 day(s) travelcard to get about London.

If there are no through Advance fares available, look at Grand Central from Eaglescliffe (near Middlesbrough; regular trains available from Middlesbrough to connect) to London King's Cross. The return fare is £81, which you can pay on board the train.

hayley_guest you do understand that the majority of trains from the North East use London King's Cross as a terminus and not London Paddington, that station serves Wales and the West.
