GroupSave is a different product and is not offered, valid, or accepted on East Coast services.0 -
Hi, would welcome help please.
Need to go from Birmingham to Cardiff in August - on any Friday really, I noticed on the advance bookings site page
that advance tickets were now on sale for the early part of Aug but when I got my price for Advance ticket, I was extremely disappointed as it was coming out at £20 each way !! Surely there is something cheaper than this ?
Anyone help ?0 -

Ive just had a quick look for the 5th aug coming back on the 7th and it looks like £20 going is the cheapest unless you split it somewhere.
but coming back on the 7th there is the 11:25 which is coming up at £12.50
Do you hold any valid railcards at all?one of the famous 50 -

XC Advance singles are carp on that route, using them you save on average £9 but lose all flexibility.
For a Day return your could try this;
Birmingham NS to Cheltenham Spa Off Peak Day Return £20.50
Cheltenham Spa to Newport SW Off Peak Day Return £11.80
Newport SW to Cardiff Cen Off Peak Day Return £4.30
Total £36.60
For longer than a day just split at Cheltenham Spa this gives a saving of £7 off the Off Peak Return but better flexibility over an advance ticket.
Trains must call at the Split points which all direct XC trains do.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
In theory it is possible to pick up a sleeping berth for as little as £19 from Euston to the highlands or vice-versa. but I have tried several times and never had any luck.
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Phone up ScotRail Telesales on 08457 55 00 33 and ask them if they have any dates for the £19 berths or when the next batch of £19 berths are going on sale.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Thanks for that LTD. Unfortunately these are only available on line, but I shall give them a ring to see if I can ascertain when batches are released.

Hi
Could anyone help me? Travelling Gloucester to Great Yarmouth on 1st July. Returning on 15th July. Cheapest we can find is £160.50 but this arrives at 4pm and we ideally need to be there around 3pm.
Would prefer not to travel in London as we have 2 small kids and a teenager.
We have a family railcard.
Any ideas???
Thanks for any help :T0 -
Without knowing the number of adults and the ages of the kids/teenager it's difficult to search meaningfully.
Assuming it's 2 adults and 3 5-15YOs then I can't get anywhere near as low as your price.0 -

£160.50 is 2x adults 2x Children Off Peak Return with F&F railcard Route:Not London, but finding a cheap alternative not going via London is not so simple to solve:beer:Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
