Via Peterborough probably best, Stansted-P'boro £8:90 std. single, buy at the station any train then P'boro-York from £9:50, book in advance GNER set train as booked.

You can get a rail card at the same time you visit a station to apply for one. Why don't you just get the rail card?

Hey great thanks did try this as picked up £5 leaflet at station but it is this Sunday I need to go and cheapest I can find is £27 as I want to get there by 10.00 for a course and leave at 18.00, this seems to be peak time so is dearer. (I did find a £10 outward train but doesn't get there til 10.20 so too late)

    Any ideas would be great!
