Hi - the fare you have found is not £25 each way per person but for 2 people - so overall it is £50 return for two people. Yes, book now as it will be more expensive on day of travel.

I have checked out midlandmainline.com and found the following, if you have a railcard it should be cheaper.
You need to book 3 singles.
Sat 30th Dec Leics 1236-Manchester 1503 change sheffield cost £6.
    Mon 1st Jan Man'r 1318 _Sheffield 1408 single £12.20
Mon 1st Jan Sheffield 1427-St Pancras 1645 cost £11.50 or £17.00 First Class
You need to book ASAP and can have the tickets sent to your home or collect them at Leicester Station Fasticket machine.
You can adjust the times to suit yourself and check availabilty, the main thing when the fares come up is to click on SINGLE fares
  • Hi I am wanting to book in advance to try and get some cheap tickets to go with my £1 hotel room in London. Date of travel is 11/3 returning 12/3 not too bothered about times. I don't travel by rail much can anyone help me out, the cheapest I can find so far is £40 but I think that is just for one person single!!

  • Query regarding First Capital Connect/GNER season tickets to London

A friend of mine travels from Hertford to Kings Cross and saves approx £800 PA by buying a ticket from Hertford to the edge of Zone 6, where his tube ticket takes over. His train stops at that station so its apparently fine although its never an offered option on renewal.

Does anyone know of a way to do this from Stevenage to KX ? I've just gone for renewal to find its increased to £3528 PA which hurts !!!!

Any suggestions, loopholes, etc .. gratefully received.

All I can offer in return is that if you order your season online they usually send it out 2 weeks beforehand and its perfectly valid to use !

    Thanks,

    Impoverished.

  • Sheffield to London - £6 each way (Standard - with free tea/coffee) or £12 (First Class) each way - when booked in advance.

Sheffield to Newcastle - £9 each way - when booked in advance.
