Can anyone suggest anything cheaper for me - I want to go from London to Leicester on the 17th, travelling about 6pm, and returning sunday 19th in the evening. There doesn't seem to be anything on the midland mainline site at the times I want that's cheaper than about £40, which seems a lot more than their fares usually are.2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -

Try it as 2 singles, if you can travel up at 8pm it is £12 each way, if it has to be 6p.m., the best seems to be, £18 up and £12 back. The cheapest advertised fare for LON-LEI is £6 single, you could try various times of the day HERE to see if there are any tickets at this price but friday and sunday evenings are highly popular times so the cheapest may already be sold out. For these prices you have to travel on the train you book, no flexibility.0 -
thanks - the £12 each way's not great, but an improvement! Thanks for the oher link.
Maybe I'll go by coach! :rolleyes:2015 comp wins - £370.25

You can get London to Swindon return for £15 on those dates through nationalrail.co.uk, but you would have to commit to travelling on that train with no amendments.0 -
