Hi this is the only time I will be going, so would and ''all zones'' or similar ticket permit us to travel on the tube.
We are literally going down there to go to the museums, then coming home.

London's transport is split up into nine zones, with the city centre being zone one. You'll really only need zone one travel, but the day travelcard available is for zones one and two (Z12). A Z12 day travelcard is £5.60 adult off-peak, £2 child off-peak (the baby will be free).

If you go by bus instead of tube your 6yo can travel free, and you could buy singles (£2 each way).
Build a man a fire and he will be warm for a day.

Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

The TFL website says if you are aged betweeen 5 and 10 you can get Free travel on Tube, DLR, London Overground and some National Rail services if travelling with an adult.

Depart Southampton 10.13, arrive London Victoria 12.44, Anytime Day Single £23.20. No changes so couldn't look for split ticket options.

    All from Southampton:

£8 with megatrain - £6 a bit later in the day. Direct to Waterloo on SWT.

Greyhound bus is marginally cheaper and a bit slower

And an £11.80 single is available on Bogofbabe's train from the Southern site - but that train goes via Gatwick and takes an age

Nothing. It's just to highlight that it's valid to Manchester Piccadilly only as most Manchester tickets are either for Manchester Stations or Manchester Central Zone, which are valid to any Manchester station.
