Hi all, well been an expensive/emotionally draining month so far have spent £170.65 and only have £4.35 to last till Sunday. Should be do-able, got in loads of stuff for pizzas and bread yesterday, stocked up mums cupboard as well. So pleased with that.
Had some great news yesterday her appeal has been won and hopefully fingers crossed she will have £100 paid into her account next week. Her gas and electricity are running really low so half of this is going straight into that and £50 straight away on food. no more signs of stroke :T:D or any other illness. Took her out for the day yesterday and she loved it, really perked her up after being ill.

    Sorry for whining all :o.

Going to pick more brambles later as the boys love the jam i made. :D. Need to make more goodies as well as they've all been eaten. No idea where those boys put them all.

good luck to all new members!

    Hiya guys,

Still not feeling too good, it's taking me ages to get over this flu, but in some ways it's had a silver lining as I just can't be bothered to get out to the shops so still in the supermarket of HWGA:rotfl:

So far this year I have spent £1140 so that is quite good, as I think I had allowed £1155 to date.

When the boys are on school hols their dinner money (diff budget) is used to pay for things that are needed for their lunches and any food we buy whilst out and about during the holidays.

I will have an extra £10 per week available once the the boys go back to school, extra hours I'm working; which I will add in to my grocery challenge; so that will be an aditional £150 for the year please Mrs M so making £1970.

I'm hoping I'm not going to need it but with the way the boys are eating at the moment I probably will, if I don't I will use it to re-stock the store cupboard/toiletries etc at year end.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

hello, I've not been here or a while and I've clearly been doing very badly budget wise in my absence so it's time for me to recommit! So Mrs M, please put me down for £350 again in September Admittedly August has not been too bad food-spend wise but I really need to cut back on the 350 budget if I can so I'll aim for 350 and hope to come in under that

    Hello everybody,

Hi MRSMCAWBER - I'm NEW to the Grocery Challenge so please can you put me down for $400.00 monthly (this is approx 200.00 pounds) for SEPTEMBER. This is to run Friday 28th August through to Thursday 24th September. This is keeping my weekly spend as it is as the moment $100.00 (50 pounds) for 2 adults however we have visitors staying with us for 3 weeks during Sept so the challenge will be keeping it at the same amount.

    Thank you.

    Good luck everybody.

I'll not even hint at what I've spent this month :p was supposed to be a low budget month but there were a few baking things I needed so I decided to get an online shop, in fact 2 online shops; I've spent lots of dosh but the freezer and cupboards are nicely full so I'm happy ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I've just done a list of my freezer OMG I didn't realise how much meat I had going to try and just eat from the freezer as much as I can.

Just one question I have loads of cooked frozen roast chicken if I was to make a chicken pie with it can it be refrozen or not?
