I am so making that chicken (when Sainsburys have the chicken pieces on £2 for a box again).0

Nearly missed it this week, was on here!
So I have one eye on the TV and one on the computer.
I fancy looking at the recipe for the biriani, as I am useless with rice.
But the budget is so high, I cannot believe it. Mind you they have more to spend on food then i have income! By 4 times I think!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Stem ginger goes great chopped up in Twinks' hobnobs.0

Hmmm, maybe we need an 'MSE takes on Economy Gastronomy' challenge - produce similar recipes for as little dosh as possible?
That's quite a nice idea- maybe working out what is essential to the flavour of a recipe e.g. the red wine to braise the beef in but where you could cut back in another area e.g. use a cheaper cut of beef????0 -
I thought I was bad at organising my food shopping but £330 a week, I don't think I spend that in a month!!
Lola
They've just had an income drop of 80% so these changes are much needed but to still be looking to spend £220 a week is extortionate.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Urgh, this one's not for me. Mussels are one seafood I have never taken to and coconut in any form makes me boke.0
-
Anyone else ever heard the words 'mussels' and 'economy in the same sentance before?
Still, under £2 a head isn't bad for a treat. Minging recipe, thoughNever underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0
