i did comment to MIL that there's no way the cake pictured in the book could have been made to the exact recipe in the book. It would need a darker sugar such as muscavado, or a good blast in an oven to get it that shade of brown.

Just a little EG update :
Pappadelle with beef and tomato salsa has been cooked we all loved it apart from the OH who wouldn't try it but that was his lost.
I have also done the pizza from scratch bit of a faf to do but worth it. following the recipe i had enough for 2 large pizza's for tea that night and froze enough for another meal too.
This book has inspired me so much and also changed my way of thinking and shopping. I really do hope and pray they make another series£2 Pig has £86 in his Tummy. I am seriuosly Become a O/S Saver0 -

So far I've done the pork and the beef tumbledowns and yum isn't really the word. My favourite ones were definitely the pork with spinach dumplings (could have easily just eaten the dumplings in some kind of soup with the pork stock and some bits of ham, and the beef daube and then the pasties. The Pork stock was absolutely gorgeous and I've still got loads of it that I froze in ice cube trays and stuck into the freezer.It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0
