One thing that stuck out for me about last night's show was the snidey comments made by both the chefs about the size of the family the couple had chosen to have. Allegra making comments about being able to procreate and not cook, and Paul saying that whenever they turn around they have another child. (or something like that- I am typing from memory)
Is it just me who thought there was a bit of disapproval from the chefs? not fair IMHO.
I like the family and was shocked about how much went down the waste disposal, but having watched I am left with the feeling that they (or at least the Dad) haven't really embraced the whole idea. The bit at the end which other posters have mentioned where the parents were giggling like kiddies about how they have been following the ideas, but in such a way that you know these occasions have been rare rather than the norm.
Oh well, not so many new recipes for me this week, but I am looking forward to seeing the students next week, as my DS1 is off to uni next year and this might help me increase his cooking repetoire so he doesn't get bored.
It's only a game

Giger personally I'd say I dont eat meat rather than use a false or misleading term. Just my personal view there.
I've told people that I don't eat meat and they seem to think that means that I do eat chicken! It would appear that some people consider that a chicken isn't meat. (Maybe because it's a bird rather than a four legged animal?)

I tried to follow the advice of both EG and MSE and meal plan but I find it doesnt encompass the random opportunity of whoopsies. I had planned to do macaroni cheese this week but found a huge pack of cheap breaded pollock which will do me as a single person for 4 meals...
However, during August I've (at least partially) worked out the Whoopsie system at our new Mr M, so I've been hitting that - and as I make a space in the freezer using stuff as per the meal plan, I've filled it with Whoopsies.
In the next few days I'll be working out my September meal plan - but this will initially be done around what I have in, and my shopping list will just be the tinned and packet stuff I need (and things like frozen veg, though that will probably have to be bought as and when due to lack of space to store enough for a whole month after my Whoopsie shopping).
Then during September I can restock on Whoopsies, and base my October meal plan around those :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -

One of my local butcher's sells rabbits for £2.99 each. I'm off to get one this afternoon and will cook it overnight in the slow cooker.0
