I wait for salmon to go on offer in Asda or Sainsbury, buy 4 or 5 cut into steaks and freeze.
It surprises me how many people can't make a fishcake, I have been making them for yonks and I vary the fish that I use, smoked haddock, mackerel, sardine, tuna and salmon or make a nice fish pie - yum. Treacle Tart my Dh loves it and custard tart, creme caramel rice pud and the like good old fashioned grubBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I loved their house, and thought they were a great family.0

I wouldn't eat rabbit:eek:
But we do love a bit of salmon:D
Rabbits are lovely. Truly an underrated and underused meat in this country. Never understood why people are so squeamish about eating them as they are just countryside pests!
OH does a lovely recipe poaching it in cider with carrots, onions and leeks. Goes down a treat with sauteed potatoes and a chunk of crusty bread to mop up sauce.
Didn't get to watch it tonight as got home from work late
Will do catch up later.0 -

Guess that just shows how we all differ. I have never tasted any of the meals you listed (i have tasted salmon about 5 times). Again, all down to upbringing and what's "old fashioned" grub to you.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I only eat beef, lamb & chicken. Turkey at xmas & duck at the Chinese.
I love fish & seafood though, I just don't eat a wide variety of animals.0 -

Lidl s have pizzas on offer at 2 for £1.20 which are much more appealing than those produced on the programme. Their costings re home made /shop bought seem seriously lacking at times.0

Hmm, bit confused as to why some of the recipes i.e. the rabbit casserole were given when one of the daughters won't eat it.Cheryl0
