I hate to admit that I am of an age that I remember the 60's and that is what people were fed in those days.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I am sure Allegra and Paul have a spy on this forum !
I did chuckle to myself when they suggested only taking cash when going shopping.:rotfl:

The one gripe I have about the base recipe is that you have to live on more or less the same meat/fish for a week, where I would make a variety of meals using different stuff and freeze
Maybe they should do a month's menu and that way you will not be living on the same sort of meal for a weekBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I think they had Salmon as much as they did as they said Salmon was the one thing that all the children (including the non-meat eater) agree on...... so it minimised how many days they had to cook at least 2 versions of the meal.
I personally wouldn't use fish that much in a week as my son would object, but could have salmon several days if just me. We normally have mince based meals at least twice a week, but they're different enough not to notice it (I do at least two non-mince meals between them)Cheryl0 -
I found the family didn't take it that seriously, at the end when they asked if they still had meals as a family, he said yes, looked at each other and giggled, like they were being naughty and telling a fib. That's just my perception though.
The girl also isn't a vegetarian if she eats fish.
I bought the recipe book and the peanut butter milkshake isn't in it, I'm most annoyed!! I wanted to try that!0 -
While I do love the programme, and the recipes (I'm gonna give the treacle tart a go!) it does still annoy me slightly.
I work full time and wonder if the mums on the programmes do as well? NO WAY would I have the time to spend making all that stuff. I do well at the moment, throwing together some meals at the weekend to stick in the freezer but the amount of time they were spending looked insane.... And if I was to have fish every night my kids would kill me....:rotfl:0 -

My word, what a loathsome family last night. It's always the same silly type of people who want to make out like they've got ever-so-much-money but they haven't really.
Why not shop at ASDA rather than Sainsburys to save money right from the off? Ghastly.
Allegra is a beautiful looking woman, mind.Comping wins this month: 2 x business class flights anywhere we like | Horse vitamins (!) | New kettle | Motorcycling prints | Signed LPs | Thanks to all!0
