  • Anyone else starting to feel a little bit depressed seeing all the money that needs to be paid out in the next few days / weeks?

In the last couple of weeks I've had to pay balances on the honeymoon, photographer, decorations and the coach for the evening guests. In the next week (or so) I've got cake, venue and florist. I'm finding it difficult to get excited with all this money going out!

I'm also employing the services of my mum (who's suddenly very excited about the wedding) and she's being my coordinator. There's not a lot left to coordinate, mind you! Her tasks were to find a coach company (I did that) and deal with the choir.

Excellent question, I'm happy to help.

Myself and fiancee are paying for everything, and have taken equal share in the organisation of all elements of the day. Obviously I've had nothing to do with the dress, and I've been happy with her colour scheme selection for the bridesmaids. I've also had very little to do with the flowers, but have looked through design ideas with her.

I feel the biggest priority was the selection of venue. We wanted to hold the event in somewhere classy but welcoming (ie not stuck up) ( http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/stngs-hanbury-manor-a-marriott-hotel-and-country-club/ )

There had to be plenty of rooms for travelling guests to make it easier on them to arrive and not have to worry about driving between locations.
I wanted somewhere we could trust to do good food, and gave plenty of options for good photos, including inside should the weather be 'British' on the day.

finished work yesterday, although didn't get out the door till 7 sneakly printed off my order of services on the printer before i escaped.

would be a hell of a lot happier if i wasn't so completely under the weather with laryngitis, summer sniffles and a chest infection. thank the lord for lots of drugs though, although the antibiotics are making me cough more but i know it will have to get worse before it gets better

i'm getting married on the 2nd may i knew i'd seen someone with the 1st of May as well so i'm number two on the list then

as for the money going out i know the feeling we're paying lots of stuff at the moment but we've got a good bit to have to hand over on the day too!

Hi all, it's starting to get a bit close now......2 weeks today the deed will be done! I think we're fairly organised but I have the following to do:

    - put together the sugar flowers for the cake, they're all made but they need arranging.
    - make the seating plan
    - make the post box for cards
    - make the favours (whilst watching the royal wedding!!)
    - bridesmaids final dress fitting
    - put the cake together the day before
    - meet with the photographer to discuss what photos we want
    - get my engagement ring cleaned
    - manicure, pedicure and eyebrow shape appaointments are booked

Ithink that's about it! i just need to get my uni work done too! I have to say I am very glad for all the bank hols!!

had a great day with my mum and my sister (who's bridesmaid) went to a spa and my mum had her first ever massage which she really enjoyed and i had a 2 hour session that included a salt scrub for starters, a shower, got covered in clay and wrapped in what looked like turkey foil :rotfl:, then another shower and then a full body massage it was bliss!

only 5 more sleeps for me till i'm a mrs can't believe it's so close now!
