I love th snakes, gandy- how did you make them?
fairly simply really found how to make them from a kids science project book that i just had to buy. Bought a packet of foam from poundland (you get about 10-12 sheets which was more than suitable for me).
cut a circle out of the foam (mark round a plate or i used the lid of a saucepan which was just the right size)
then starting at the tail end cut a spiral pattern in the foam leaving a a part for the head at the end.
i cut up different foam shapes randomly to decorate the snakes and cut out a name of each child (i just did these freehand, using a pencil i drew out each of the letters backwards and then cut them out so the side with the messy pencil marks was the side i glued down)
also i bought a packet of wobbly eyes to put on the head and cut out a snake tongue by cutting a rectangular shape of foam and then cut a triangle shape from the end and then glued it to the underside of the head.
to make the snakes stand you need blue tack, a straw and a pipe cleaner that is longer than the straw. don't stretch the bendy bit in the straw and feed the pipe cleaner through with the bit at the top make a little loop where the snakes head can balance, secure the straw and pipe cleaner to the table with blue tack and balance the snake and watch the body drop to the table.
i'll see if i can scan in the instructions i used from the book and if you pm me your email i'll send them too you. they used paper in the book but the foam was fine to work with and a little bit more rugged.0 -

just got back from bridal shop and the only thing needs doing is hem taking up bit! Had to practice walking around in it for a bit, think am bound to trip up at some point during the day! Picked up my shoes so practicing wandering round in them!!! Florist visit was good, had originally wanted quite bright flowers but my bridesmaid dresses re a minty type green do have gone for a peachy colour, which should keep with the vintagey theme, so exciting! Makeup trial and catching up with photographer tomorrow!!!
Welcome to frog prince! hope all your plans are coming along well! xx

I have my hen do this weekend too!
I'm also having a slight panic about giving notice. We gave notice on 22nd March and thought we'd have got some paperwork though by now - does it normally take a while?Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
It's my hen do this weekend too so that makes at least 3 of us!! Laura, clearingoutmypockets, what do you both have planned?
Mine has been organised by my BM's, meal followed by drinks in a bar is what I am lead to belive, although I know they have a few suprises up their sleeves certainly involving games during the evening! Looking forward to it but they were given strict instructions that nothing pink and fluffy was to be involved as I'm not that kinda gal, my BM's are wearing blue and there is no pink involeved anywhere in the wedding - far too girlie for me, lol!
Am absolutely shattered tho as work has been manic lately, just hope that I get enough sleep tonight to be able to last the night tomorrow - would be a shame if the bride to be had to go home and go to bed for coccoa at 10:30!!!0
