Meal in a turkish restaurant in London followed by drinks. That's all I know! Me, sister and mum (and dad) are staying in hotels for the night so we don't have to travel back to Kent. OH let it slip that there will be a "how well do you know the groom" quiz for me. One of my cousins has organised this one and I've organised my other one (in May - a local one so MIL can come too).
This one was a bonus one really - two of my cousins' girlfriends / wives are currently 8 months pregnant so wanted to arrange something that they could go to, so May was out of the question for them. My gran (bless her) is coming along too so it won't be too wild!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Ordered my cake, a three tier one from M&S. I have to collect it 2 days before wedding. It was also on 3for2 which made it even more of a bargain!Got Married on 28th May 2011 :j0

just bought my wedding underwear, this is the third attempt as finding it so hard to get something that goes under my dress which is quite slinky! but think i may have just found it!!! Spanx power panties!:j0

finally finished my flower girls felt and button flower bouquet, have two button holes made for my page boys and a little button hole for my other nephew (his mum is my bridesmaid) and made a little wrist flower for my OH niece who's not doing anything.
didn't want to leave out the youngest nephew and niece with the flowers
still have a list as long as my arm of stuff to do and it's 2 weeks today (seeing as it's past 12 and officially now monday)
thankfully i get my easter hols thursday and that's me until i'm back from honeymoon!0 -
Had a good weekend on my hen do (part 1
) Lots of food, some drinks (not too many, my mum and mother of groom where there too... lol) a trip to the cinema (private hire of a screen to see Red Riding Hood, it was good) and a generally nice time.
Now- the disaster! Went to a dress fitting on Friday morning. I am having my dress altered at a different place to I bought it as the first place doesn't do their own alterations and the place that is adjusting it is much nearer to home. Anyway, I put the dress on and the lady laced me up and I said it doesn't really feel tight enough, especially around the top as I have quite a large bust. It is something i mentioned at the place I bought it but the lady just said 'oh, it's fine. You can just lace it up a bit more' and sent me on my way. Anyway, it won't tighten up any more. There is not enough support in teh corestry for me even though I was assured there was and the lady said she would need to make me a halter neck in order for it to stay up!
But I don't know if I even like halter neck dresses... and I have bought jewelelry and a shrug wrap thing to fit my strapless dress which probably won't work with a halterneck. And my necklace was an expensive 30th birthday present (2 weeks ago) to wear on the day and probably won't work any more and everyone keeps saying 'it'll be fine, it'll look lovely' blah blah blah but what I want is for everyone to be as stressed and worried about it as me... it's my wedding dress. And now it's wrong. And I can't do anything about it. And my mum keeps saying- i'll buy you a new dress. BUt where? With 6 weeks to go? And it'll just feel like making do and settling and as always everything as gone !!!!ing wrong. excuse my edited french!

Hey ladies, how's it all going, not long to go now!!!!!!!!
I have a massive to do list which consists of sentences which say "check this", "confirm that" - all the big stuff is done but lots of little things to be done still! I took OH for a walk last night to where he proposed and we talked about the wedding, what we wanted, what was important and just refocused on the important things, it's so easy to get carried away. We explained how we felt about it all and what our worries were. It really helped because I dont see him much as he works long days and most of the planning has been left in my hands. I feel much better now we have a chat about it all. I cant wait to cross everything off my to do list - as that will mean its nearly time!!!! eeeeeeeeek!
appointments this weekend include, suit hire confirmation, florist and hotel for FINAL numbers!!! FINAL dress fitting on Tuesday!
Who from the May brides is up first!?!0 -
OI! There are more than just brides here :P
I'm 28th May, so I'm guessing one of the last, but given it's a bank holiday weekend I'm sure there will be plenty on the 29th, and possibly the 30th too.
We had a meet with the DJ this week to run through song likes and dislikes and the additional lighting options we want. Off to see the photography next Tuesday for a similar discussion on likes and dislikes.
Sat through and worked out the absolute final numbers for the daytime so we can get back to the venue with that info.Legal team on standby0 -
hahaha!! sorry Malkie, I forgot we had May grooms too!! Seeing as you are here I can tap into your male brain for a moment. As a groom, what is the most important thing for you regarding your upcoming wedding? I'm intrigued to see if (except for the vows being top priority obviously) men and women have different priorities!!?0
