Sorry you were dissappointed but I think you'll see from reading the above you probably had a lucky escape.
I'm sure it's been around a while, I remember 'winning' one a few years back. That and one of those studio photo shoots.
This may not always be the case but I think it's a safe bet to say that if you have to ring to claim a prize it's probably not good.
Usually the letter to tell you you've won would tell you prize was on it's way in 28 days or whatever or they will just ring and tell you the same.
If it's a company name you've not heard of or something doesn't feel right you can always put it's name in google followed by scam and a lot of times you'll find it. Not always though, I was conned/scammed by Kelloggs big time.:rolleyes:

I 'won' one last week as well. Got very excited until I rang the phone number and they asked for a 'contribution' toward the maintenance costs. Better luck next time ......!!

Hi, I just got the same letter and I was a bit dubious so thought I would take a look here first to see if anyone else had received the same letter before I rang, and I'm glad I did.... shame though, it would have been my first win!

I got exactly the same letter this morning, funny thing is I got another letter on saturday for seasons to say I lost:( They can't make their minds up!

Just got a letter through today saying I won as well. I was a bit suspicious and thank goodness someone has already said that this is a scam.:mad:

I got one too this morning.My first thought was 'scam' and was just about to throw it away when I realised that I'd kick myself if it was for real.Before I actually 'put finger to dial' I thought I'd check it out on here.Thank goodness for MSE!
