Games at 47p. They must either make a very good profit when they sell them at their normal price or they must be making a real loss selling them at just 47p a game.

It's time to get in quick before the games run out.

They aren't making huge profit when sold at full price, price matching with competition etc...means that games that 3 years ago made between 25% and 30% profit, now on average make less than 10% when sold.

I can assure you they are making a huge loss against the actual cost of buyin the game into their business. But they can't do much else, with all the titles, they aren't able to return them to their supplier and get a refund, so they make the choice of leave em on a shelve at higher prices and hope someone buys em, or put em down to ridiculous price and watch em shot of the shelves, whether into staffs hands or customers.

At least when they go with the latter we have a chance of grabbing a bargain. I have manged to get hold of about 30 of these games so far, with a bit of freinsliness with different store managers, pull a few strings etc...

Can also confirm PCworld now, as went in lat night and got 4 games of the shelf and then had an argument at the till, as they almost refused to sell them, just said u gotta sell em at the cheapest price, as cashier was about to overide the till price of 0.47p. Luckily I know there systems well enough to know what he was starting to do, adn said hold on.

These are gonna make great presents or even better trade-ins at GAME.

As for them not being able to find the games, this is always a chance that this happens, as most of these will be last one in store or so old that it has vanished somehow. There are certain titles they have loads of, such as HALO and you should be able to find this most places.

I would not recommend calling a store before you go, as any keen staff that didnt know it was that cheap will start grabbing them, even managers will often remove em from sale, and hold for themselves....get freindly with your stores, and you got a chance of getting in on the bargains. I actually have one store call me now to let me know that some new bargains are on the system.

PS this magical list fo cheap games, should also list almost everything else that is clearance in store, such as digi camera's, TV's, HiFi, tapes almost anything they want to clear from teh stock in stores. So if you manage to get one, then look beyond the games!

    Cheers

    Another satisifed customer ;)

Updated the original post with everything posted here and on the DVDF thread. Again if anyone finds a Ninja Gaiden (no more ninja jokes!) or a Clone Wars I've got a fair few to swap, or can pay cost + P+P :)

royalsteve - I forget are you berkshire way ?

If so - nought left at Dixons - Oracle - PC World Reading or Dixons Bracknell (got nothing at either of the last two)

Girl in Dixons was so suprised at the price had to call supervisor - but no problems buying - young Saturday chappie said staff were aware of this Friday and they were all getting them - and must have missed the ones I managed to get

    :D
