Really? Cos I keep being told by ex and sister that if I get a cleaner they'll walk back out again unless I've done a lot first.
Your sister and ex talk a load of shit in order to prolong their draining of your resources. The cleaners are there for however many hours you pay them for, and excepting "druggy" circumstances with sharp pointy things, don't actually care what they're cleaning.
It's their job - they're there for the money."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Speaking of wind - we had a drink in Carting/farting Lane on Saturday:

On steep Carting Lane near the Savoy is a Webb sewer gas lamp, the bulb of which was originally illuminated by sewer gases (or, to be more direct, it's nickname was Farting Lane).

Agency it is!
I am such a hoarder! I've just been agonising over whether or not to keep an OU letter about resitting an exam because I was ill on the day. I've already resat and got the course final mark fgs!
If I'm not heard of again, it's because I've drowned under a large rainforest worth of paper.
I have just found all my diaries from the last five years. That is depresssing I can tell you.
I would love to write here that I have changed but I haven't I haven't moved on at all. It really is such a waste. I don't know how it happened.
And I may disappear under a pile of complete rubbish.

I keep trying to write a diary, when I do it makes me feel better to have an outlet, but I always manage a few weeks then give up. So five years of diarys is an achievement in itself!
Z, you're right. They keep telling me how bad it is and that the council will throw me out if they see it. But from being on the tenants and residents committee I know that it's not that bad, because the surveyers and workmen have come in and done their jobs - I know if flats are that bad they wont even go through the door, so my place can't be that bad.
I just need to keep reminding myself that they're being selfish not looking after my interests, whatever they say.
I'm being ruthless with the sorting, I've thrown away a letter that says 'please find enclosed...', even though my inner hoarder was screaming to keep it.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Re: recycling shredded paper. For some reason, our council wont accept shredded paper for recycling, so worth checking with them first perhaps?0

BB, I've not stayed in Quateira, but we spent Xmas & New Year 06/07 HERE.
That hotel is close to the beach and we walked along the beach to Quateira.
The promenade is lovely and there are several bars/cafes, we found a great place that did huge sandwiches on hand sliced bread.
There is a market there and it has a good bus service to Vilamoura & beyond.
My dad & his pals go to Vilamoura to play golf each year and as they have cars, they go to Quateira to eat as it is loads cheaper than by the marina in Vilamoura.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

I think I only kept a few for a whole year, or maybe just eight months actually. One thing you can say I never give up! I am weirdly determinded in some parts. the writing is terrible tho. and the patterns are very clear.
and yes Ames, sod your ex and sis. you are doing brilliantly! In fact I feel inspired to continue with my decluttering xxxxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
I'm getting a cleaner too, it's what I've been trying to do today. Who knew it was so complicated. they keep asking me questions like what needs doing and when. I'm told that come when it's dirty and go when it's clean isn't a good answer, but I just want someone to come in and make my house clean, then turn up when it gets dirty and do it all over again. It's no good asking me how long it takes... all bleeding week is my answer. And, if they really want to know what I want doing, well, it's everything including shopping cooking gardening childcare and wiping my bottom. I knew I should have been born royal:A
