Pigpen - I like having the Black Run and the Nursery Slopes as they act as a constant reminder for me to do the tasks I need to do in order to keep house. If I don't do everything I'm not upset about it as long as I have tried

    Now.. 2 choices...

Do away with the 'nursery slopes' idea and stick to the original idea of flybabies do the levels and work up to level three and add any extra jobs that HAVE to be done to their own 'dailies' list as we have always done before

    OR

Keep the nursery slopes which I do think complicates matters and adds extra work for those who are totally competitive and cannot refuse a challenge. Also, I feel, makes the 'levels' obsolete which means everyone will get a huge list of tasks each day. and also along with the weekly challenge it is just too much.

    Thoughts please...

Hi Pigpen - and a big thank you for continuing to put so much into trying to keep us on the straight and narrow.

My personal view (as someone who does get overwhlemed with stuff and then goes AWOL frequently) is that we do need to go back to simplifying things. I like the 3 levels with the extras, and think for those that are not at home all day, that if these are swapped around then all areas are covered over a few weeks. I like the way you swap the days around too because again if you always go out on a Tuesday evening say, its not always the same room that gets missed.

Thanks again - oh, and sounds like your new OH is a star :D

I hope those are tears of joy not and upset and offended tantrum :p

Pigpen - re the black run/nursery slopes - I think it's probably catering for the competitive streak there seems to be in many flyladies  I think the people who couldn't do the lists were feeling left out. How about we give it a go for a week or two and see how it works out?

Personally I liked the old way - but then I have just started with you lovely ladies and need step by step lists to keep me right. Just my opinion and possible if I had been doing it longer I might have a different opinion.

As for me - tonight has been a little hectic and DS is still awake (in bed since 7.30pm but not quite asleep yet) which means I havent been able to do as much as I had hoped :o although I have decluttered several cups of tea . Now heading off to chuck some sausages and cider in the SC

pigpen - FWIW I feel that flybabies need lists to follow to help them out - I know I wouldn't have got anywhere when I started if your lists weren't there, and the Levels definitely help. We have seen many newbies achieve Level One and then increase the amount they do each week so they can see an improvement.

I have my own one-a-day list (more in the holidays) which is my choice and acts as reminders for me - I know many others do this too. If people are going to write their own lists to gain awards, then this could make the lists redundant which I'm sure no-one wants. Also, the tasks will be so varied that there is no comparison in what people achieve. If people are finding it demoralising because they don't achieve any stars then (and this is only a possible suggestion) can there be something for different levels? I realise this could be more work for Toots / Soappie, but they are juggling 3 different awards at the moment! Or we don't worry about stars and instead award something for achieving the Weekly Challenge which is an 'extra'.

Just my thoughts - hope I haven't upset anyone

Pigpen, I think option 1 works well, i.e the daily room, with three levels- we can do 1, 2 or 3 of the levels....star awarded for completing all three levels. TBH, although I like to get a star, I don't feel the need to get one- we have said before it is not a competition as we all have different houses, families, and things we are able to do! I don't tend to do the extras, although I see no reason to remove them, as they are good for inspiration. I also like the 5 things a week challenge and the MACAW as they are do-able but still feels like an achievement when completed.
TBH I feel that the nursery slopes is really just a fancier name for the dailies, and there is no reason why a poster cannot just set themselves 5 (or however many) dailies only, or alongside the other challenges (this seems to work for me, although not been doing the lists last week as too much other stuff to distract me, I plan to continue with this after hols!) ?
Anyway, hth you decide what to do, and thanks for organising so much on the thread!
