I finished decorating the kitchen yesterday so after a couple of weeks of utter disruption we should get it straight today - DH is putting up shelves at the moment. I am thrilled because the kitchen was in the most awful state before - we are slowly doing up our house - every room needed decorating, not to mention new central heating, doors etc. It's all part of getting the house up to scratch for an Ofsted inspection for childminding which is in a couple of days time!!!
Took DD to the cinema this morning - this was MS because it was only £1 each. Went to Macdonalds afterwards, not so MS but she needed a treat cos she had a bad day yesterday poor thing.
P.s. Think this is a nice thread, gives everyone the opportunity to chat a bit more than the daily spend one - good idea!0 -
Have just got back from leafletting in the area where my part time business is to promote it, my legs feel like they're gonna drop off! Still, it was free exercise in the fresh air and will hopefully bring in a few new customers to help me earn a bit of cash.
Before I left this morning I put some pork loin steaks in the slow cooker(BOGOF from Sainsburys) with some economy range apple juice, added some chopped herbs from the garden. It's smelling good now, and I will serve it for my family when they come over for dinner.
I have some dry clothes to fold and sort on the airer, I never use a tumble dryer (mainly cos we don't have room for one! I air dry everything year round except bedding which I take to Mum's TD).
Glad to see you're all having such DFW/ MSE days!

OH and I had a lovely day out today, ate lunch at home first to remove the temptation of having food at any cafes, takaways or pubs. Visited a castle which is fairly near but somewhere we had never been before. Entry was £8, so we decided not to go in, but have a walk around instead. Had a lovely 3 mile walk in the countryside. Drove then to a National Trust waterfall, had a walk underneath the falls, and in the woods. Spent £1 on a big bottle of coke as all the walking made us really thirsty.
Came home about an hour ago, have had a sandwich and may go for a another walk down the beach later. Going to cook a veggie sunday dinner (meal planned) later on for the evening and watch a DVD (borrowed from a friend). Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter Sunday!0 -
Cor Dr Lou, where do you live? Sounds gorgeous!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

We live in South Wales, about 15 miles west of Swansea. When I think about it, it is a nice place to live (most of the time) and we are lucky to have a lot of outdoorsy stuff to do for free nearby (only if the weather is good though!!!
