What about cherry tomatoes? Do they all grow really tall?

You can get a variety that trails, making them great for hanging baskets. Unusual, too. :D

I've got three grow bags with a little smattering of iceberg seeds just showing leaves in one, & three tomato & two chard plants in each of the other two.

There's also a pot with a courgette & another with strawberries, plus assorted herbs, so I'm doing really well for me so far:p

Must admit tho, I never gave a thought to feeding--particularly the toms:o So would you recommend a twice-a-week jobbie in a watering can, or more frequently? The plants were donated so I have no idea of the variety & keep forgetting to ask the donors for advice cuz we're always busy catching up on everything else:D

I have always wanted to grow my own veg but I dont have a garden, but i do have a large kitchen window sill which gets a lot of light, so today i have planted some tomato seeds in a large pot, and also some rocket in a large seed tray..they are now sitting comfortably on my sill...but I am worried..I usually kill plants by not watering them enough or drown them by watering them too much! lol
how often should I water them please? i am not very green fingered lol

Old? Just put it in the garden and sit in it.

    Alternatively, try some salad leaves.

I should think the rocket will be okay at four per pot (6 inch) but I think two max for the spinach. How about getting a long planter or two? You can buy a size that's right for your window sill/s. Hubby will just have to lump it, sez I, if he's happy to eat the fruits of your labour. :D

Oh yes, as long as they are 'open pollinated' plants (pollinated by bees and other insects). Have a look at the Real Seed Company's website for more information on that.

Thank you :D Dunno why they don't make the instructions as clear as that on the packet for newbies (or idiots) like me

Will be re-potting shortly (and donating some rocket plants to my sister too ;))
