3. I mention Roberto cos you still fail to grasp that Roberto in fact placed the link, then at a later time Herbie offered a password therefore no advertising whatsoever.
When you resort to personal abuse there is an argument that says you should be ignored.
But for the sake of accuracy:
I do not know why you brought Roberto into this. My post was aimed at herbie who is using the forum in general to advertise.
In fact you were the first person to put the link in this thread, not Roberto, though this is irrelevant.
You say Herbie has not advertised "whatsoever". Not true. In every post (whether relevant or not) she appends her highlighted link! (Even though she knows its against the rules as she originally put it in her sig, and she knows that was removed by MSE for breaking the no advertising rules).
Some would see it as cynical for her to put up a post just to announce she has sent a pm to a poster, and then (of course) put up the link once again!0 -
Thanks for an excellent thread yet again N-I-D
I have just used the 'doorstep visit' recommended letter and really appreciate it - thanks. (Calder Financial acting for Barclaycard, who seem to be tarting themselves around quite a few DCA's but choosing to completely ignore the numerous letters I have sent them! I don't think the DCA's like dealing with me for some reason!)
It's a horrible feeling when things like this hit the doorstep and it's so helpful to have access to advice and support.Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

I find it very sad that someone who is trying to help people is being slated for "advertising" I had issues with a bailiff and herbie posted her details on my post...thanks to her I got every penny refunded by this company because they had broken every rule in the book. I did not pay a penny for this advice and I am eternally gratefull to herbie and her website for all of the help.
Sad day if people who are helping are slated for advertising as it seems clear to me that if a genuine case is seen then no charge is made and they offer advice for free.0 -
How is it "sad"?
She could have helped without using the opportunity to cynically add the link to the website in every post?
What do you think her motive was in doing that?0 -

Hi NID I've had a little bailiff issue today.
I had a voicemail message left from a bailiff who is trying to recover a debt that I have a CCJ with.
They first hand delivered a letter in Sept and I sent them your letter revoking licence and telling them to contact me in writing. I then heard nothing else from them until today.
The message on my mobile (not sure how they got my number) basically says we need to sort it out and if I don't ring them they will come round with a locksmith.
They have never been in, not levied and not got a WPO so I know they cant.
Should I just send them the letter again and include a bit about their illegal threat?
I thought this debt had gone back to the creditor as they have served a SD on me for it.
Thanks0 -

Yes send the letter again and remind them that the OC has commenced SD process against you, I thought you had your own thread for this? If so post on there....2010 - year of the troll

This is a bit of a stupid question, but we are getting threatening baliffs letters in the door saying they have called by to collect goods to repay debts owed by previous tenants(obviously they dont know that those tenants are no longer living in the property). We have been in the house since September 2009 on a new lease and have been on the council register since December. We don't need to worry about the baliff trying to take anything right?
The previous tenants have nothing to do with us, they were simply the tenants in the house before we moved in. From the amount of late bills and final warnings they are getting, Im guessing they scarpered to another country (they all have Arabic names).
I left a voicemail with the baliff today anyway just to stop them bugging us with letters.0
