Sounds like a veiled threat! Making threats of physcial assault probably wont help your case! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

I replied baseball bats hurt and i may also arrest him for breaking and entering. To which he just hung up on me :O .
I am seriously tempted to give this idiot the runaround now due to his attitude hopefully the courts will sort him out.
What to do now, ring from your mobile or on loudspeaker and tape him! Try and get him to admit what he told you today, prompt him such as 'remember yesterday you said you would arrest me if I stopped you breaking into my house' - if he says 'yes, or ok' whatever then you have got him! Basically wind him up (you must act calm and collected though and not sound antagonising) and make him slip up then tell him you taped the whole call and will now report it to the relevant governing bodies such as MoJ, Trading Standards and OFt.
Then remind him this must cease immediately - do it all on tape and you'll have all the evidence you need..... What a muppet saying he'll arrest you! It's him that would be arrested, and yes - you are entitled to use reasonable force if you find him in your house one day (unless you left the door unlocked or something).2010 - year of the troll

Maybe not but certainly satisfying and to be fair, they don't care and assuming the bailiff did carry out his threat and break in, then the OP would have every right to carry out his threat - so maybe not so veiled as one would assume! :rolleyes:2010 - year of the troll

Have done what you suggested never in doubt i couldn't get him to admit what he said. i explained again i was on benefits and he said it makes no difference the debt needs to be paid in full.
He then asked what day i'd be in so we can discuss payment i said he can come today but i'll only talk to him outside by his car. To which he hung up again
I just read the letter from the bailiff again and i noticed that my name had been spelt wrong by both provident and the county court would this make the debt invalid?0 -

I'd just ignore them now and get the judgement set aside for their harassment and unprofessionalism.
The spelling mistakes won't matter much, it will be set-aside and re-done most probably.
Personally, i'd start to record everything and report it all. :beer:2010 - year of the troll

Hi all,
Looking for some advice about fee's that are, imo, rather excessive..
I got a parking ticket (council) in late Dec '07 (all a bit complicated, my car, ex's cousin borrowed it, I don't even drive) he said he would pay up and didn't... It went to a bailiff that contacted my old address..
Anyhow, I called in June this year and paid £100 of the outstanding £192 and told them I would call as soon as I could raise the rest, she assured me that this was not a problem. I did this a few weeks back and have been told the oustanding is now £240. I paid £100, just over the £90 I was expecting to pay and asked for a breakdown of these fee's..
They vary between £28-£100. one day alone was a total of £128. They have also added £1.50 for each payment I have made.0 -

hi. i had a couple of unpaid speeding fines which got passed onto the baillifs. this eventually added up to £660. i was so sick of getting calls and letters that i took out a small loan and paid it off in 1 go. now i have just had a woman at my door tonight claiming i still owe them money. i am sick of this and i want to know what i can do. i got her mobile number and said i would ring her to confirm that i have paid it all off. i know for a fact when i tell her this tomorrow it will have no effect. they will probably try and say they will collect property from me if i dont pay up and add more on if baillifs do call. i really am at my wits end. those people are scum in my eyes, but it seems to me that they can do what they want. where is my protection? these guys are backed by the law yet they find money owed when its so blatently not. i have seen the copies of letters on this site, which would anyone recommend i use? please somebody give me some advice i feel totally isolated with this. thanks0

I was just wondering what exactly the bailiff will arrest you for, and which part of Sec 24 PACE will apply to that? Let alone which act he will use to enter your home and take your goods. Personally I would forget the baseball bat, let him do as he wants and even arrest you, take you down the local police station and book you in. I can assure you that - a) MEGA COMPO! and b) I don't know a single custody officer that would even let the baliff in the custody suite with this! These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
BUMP!! can anyone help with my query??0
