Ok, am sure you can still argue the charges being levied - I am not that hot on the charges element but know the basis of the law regards to the action the bailiffs/DCA can/cannot take so hold fire and someone will come along shortly that knows about the charges...

    Hi all,

Looking for some advice about fee's that are, imo, rather excessive..

I got a parking ticket (council) in late Dec '07 (all a bit complicated, my car, ex's cousin borrowed it, I don't even drive) he said he would pay up and didn't... It went to a bailiff that contacted my old address..

Anyhow, I called in June this year and paid £100 of the outstanding £192 and told them I would call as soon as I could raise the rest, she assured me that this was not a problem. I did this a few weeks back and have been told the oustanding is now £240. I paid £100, just over the £90 I was expecting to pay and asked for a breakdown of these fee's..

They vary between £28-£100. one day alone was a total of £128. They have also added £1.50 for each payment I have made.

This seems excessive. Have you seen this?

It's a long time since I was a bailiff so I can't remember if the complaint route for parking fines is the issuing court or the council who issued the fine but I'd be complaining I think.

You have to pay to use the download section! dammit!!

Should I pay it and try to claim it back after? I'm worried they will lump more on to this :(

Thanks for being so generous - wish more members were like you :D Very nice gesture :T

Could you send it to me so I can look at their letters please, or at least copy a load of them and email me them? They may come in use on here (obviously i'd amend them to protect copyright)...

As you'd appreciate, they may help other users in need. :D

You are naive to think otherwise!

Previously the link was contained in his sig (this also against the rules), and was removed and replaced with this message:
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure

This new wheeze of putting his link in every post is just a cynical way of abusing the no links in sigs rules as well as the no advertising rules.
