in that picture, i wasn't referring to the 'yellow' chimeny with what people are saying looks like a hula hoop on top. That to me looks normal.

I was referring to the thing to the right of it that looks like some sort of cupboard...it even appears to have a handle. what is that?

We have chimneys that look like that round here, so that could be a red herring!

i wasnt really looking at the chimney (the 'hula hoop') but the door + handle next to it. a door on a roof?

Ok!! Long story short...... I was searching for ages using various searches (I don't give up!).... Eventually I put 'English Village' into Google, then I found a similar photo where you could zoom into the buildings. One of them was called The White Hart Inn.... More searching for The White Hart Inn in Google images and I found the same buildings!! Took me ages though!
It is a village in the Cotswolds called............. Winchcombe!!

Dunno if I can post links on here....?
But..... if you search Google images for 'Winchcombe', the first pic that comes up should be very similar to the comp pic. This one has bicycles in it.

Also, if you search 'Flickr.com for 'Winchcombe' but go into 'advanced search' and put 'the exact phrase' in the first box, towards the end of the first results page you can also see the roof of that weird chimney building. It has a Hula Hoop type chimney but I can't see the little door type chimney although the photo is taken from the other side.

    Phew..........
    :)

Brilliant work on finding the village!

I'm still thinking Times Square, as it would be one hell of a coincidence for the clock to be absolutely spot on Midnight (or midday, as the photo is in daylight).....guess I'll wait for a few more people to contribute their ideas and then finalise my entry and edit my post on the first page.

In fact, having looked at the image that you found the clock isn't even there, so it's definitely been added and is a clue :j

Therefore, I'm almost certain that it's Time Square, as I'm not sure where else a square clock would refer to.....

    Thoughts, people?
