Even I can see where I could make savings - I am hating vodafone though, gone into their shop a few times seeing about lowering my tarriff - only thing I can do is lower it to 25 quid a month and get 100 minutes and something like 50 texts!!:mad: At the moment I pay 30 quid a month and get 600 minutes and 500 texts! Its all a scam IMO, the only reason I have a mobile phone is so I can call OH.
Worst thing is that I can't do ANYTHING about it until March... and the contract ends in june... Suppose If i don't use it/get other half to ring me... that is a minimum of 30 quid saved...possibly more if i just keep downgrading every month but it just seems so unfair.
I also REALLY regret going with BT. Not because of their service or anything.. just should have got cheap broadband elsewhere and I don't need an unlimited package anymore. Maybe ring them up and ask about lowering the package am on and see how I cope...?
I wish I had woken up about this last year - I would be debt free by now as I didn't have my pension coming off... Just gotta keep fighting and selling and I will get there!!
For now I gotta sit back and start tearing my SOA apart and figuring out what I can lower, and what I can't...
Good afternoon Itsarandom,
Although we can’t initially lower your package to one less than £25.00 (inc. VAT) a month we’d be happy to see if there’s perhaps a package which gives a little more for your money.

So been looking at this free scratchcard bingo stuff and to be honest, no.
Its free money and even I understand I must be a bit dimwitted to turn this down but... my gut instincts tell me that if I do this I am going to mess it up.
I know its silly but I suspect I just don't have the attention span or the willpower, which I spent on quitting smoking, to attempt it.Sealed Pot No:721 started 05/08/09 until 30/04/09 Target:£100 - £60 Banked!

***WARNING RANTING AND MOPING AHEAD! PLEASE FOLLOW DIVERSION***
I dunno but tonight I am feeling a bit low all of sudden.
I keep thinking "Am I really making any headway?" and I don't think so because All i see is this little credit debt of 953.90 taunting me... continually. While the big baddie at 2600ish is just laughing at my attempts to reduce my debtwell it is going down honest, not up, but still.
Can't get rid of the little one - its got three years on a 3.6%... the big one I got til end of July to get rid or it goes up to 19.9%
It gets you down, you know? Mainly because 1400 was created EXTRA in July when I suddenly had to find somewhere to live out of the blue. I should be on 2100 - under half my original debt. Instead I am lingering at the 3600ish stage.
Two steps forward, one step back...gotta keep my chin up and just get to it...but I just keep thinking "Why didn't I clear it? Why didn't I take responsibility earlier? You have been working in your chosen career for 4 years and where are you now? You are living like a student, wearing clothes you have worn since a student and you STILL don't understand how makeup works..."
I have nothing to show for my debt. Nothing except some credit/debit card statements.
I want to live with the person I am going to marry, preferably BEFORE we get married!! Yet I still mess up - buying oh so little things like breakfast at work, lunch at work - agreeing to nights out with work.
I just wish I could train my brain to just THINK before these things and just ask itself "you will enjoy this for, oh, 5 minutes then beat yourself up about it for the rest of the day... WHY BOTHER?!?!"
Gotta keep going, gotta keep selling and working and hoping somehow am going to start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully. Just a glimmer please... even a hint that it exists would be nice!!
I figured 3.6k - its 3.7k!! Thats it! Goal set - Gotta get ahead of this!!!Sealed Pot No:721 started 05/08/09 until 30/04/09 Target:£100 - £60 Banked!

Hey Random,
Found your diary!! Was nice to meet you last Saturday, the Meet has really started me on my debt busting again, after having a few spendy weeks. Have now subscribed!!0 -
Really busy at work today so will do some "proper" posting at lunchtime but just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to Linz - the Diary as arrived and it is EXACTLY what i was hoping for! Its flexible, small, plenty of writing space for each day and has lovely useful address and conversions in it as well! Better than what I had hoped to get myself!
I am definitely going to make it my own personal goal that from 28th onwards I will use it continously!! Am going for gold and you have made it so that I can get something other than practical stuff for Xmas
Thanks so much again!Sealed Pot No:721 started 05/08/09 until 30/04/09 Target:£100 - £60 Banked!

Hello again everyone! I am in a chipper mood today - mainly because I have realised I am going to make my goal - as long as nothing stupidly expensive happens, or I spend unnecessarily on things.
Am going to hold off on cycling until I get back from my holidays, and try to buy myself some half-decent bike lights and run on semi-normal batteries. I saved a fortune when I used to cycle, time to get back on the wagon! I also feel like I am gaining a little weight so it can help with that too
I always said that debt-busting HAS to take priority for the time being, over weight-loss, social life and hobbies. This is why I have been never trying to diet and save money because I am a picky eater, a pretty rubbish picky eater at that, so my general solution to weight loss is cycling and changing my eating habits at work, because this is where the problem is.
At home I do not have "snacky" things in the house - because biscuits are lucky if they last a few days... at work at least I have the peer pressure to slow be down but sometimes its not enough. I suspect it is my body craving nutrients... I should do an eating diary while doing a spending diary! Might be an interesting outcome... especially if i write down the main emotions of the day. Maybe dieting = debt-busting! I have never thought about it like this...
Oh but anyway, i am just rambling now
Need to get ironing and washing pretty much everything single item of clothing I own - because my washing mountain is starting to become a risk to crushing me...! Was thinking of buying some new clothes soon - need more trousers and jumpers but being the tom-boy that I am it is usually hoodies, combats/jeans and tshirts... need to start thinking about my wardrobe change once I get debt-free - oh I would love to try and be a bit more girly now, but for the moment my clothes selection while tom-boyish, is also cheap and cheerful to buy and doesn't need any kind of experimentation!
Need to also start thinking about buying new work shoes next year - urgh. at work I wear a suit and shoes and the whole gettup. Now the shoes have lasted over four years and seen more interviews than I care to mention are getting very long in the tooth - even polish isn't saving them anymore!! Need to find similar ones - preferably less than the 45 quid these ones cost!
In other news - am going up to the OH this Sunday then am off work until the 29thwill make it at least a cheap week! Otherwise just plodding along and concentrating on the idea that i really don't need to buy anything else this month. Honest! Ooooh look at the shiny baubles...
Ho hum, more thinking to be done... best get back to work! Will try to post more soon.Sealed Pot No:721 started 05/08/09 until 30/04/09 Target:£100 - £60 Banked!
