BE QUICK!... 10,000 Nectar points (£50) for Ford test drive

Went to Dagenham Motors in Alperton (London) today. Had a chat with the salesman who gave me the points without a test drive. I have to say I have never considered buying a Ford before but after my visit there today I am seriously considering it. The salesman was very friendly and helpful without being pushy and I have to say I am very taken by the new model Fiesta, cheap and less to spend on tax, insurance etc. Maybe this wasn't such a mad-cap idea from Ford after all !Education is compulsory, school is not.

I went to Jennings in Washington, sales guy could not have been nicer! I did get a brochure (will be looking for a car for my son as soon as he passes his test) but the guy said if I jusy wanted the Nectar Points he'd process them later. No hard sell or pushy sales tecniques! Mind I did spot a used Jag might have to go back with he cheque book. Seems to be a sales campaign that will work!0

Just back from my 'test drive'.
I had called in on Tuesday and the salesman said I had to take a test drive to get the points, so I booked in for today. Luckily today was his day off and I got a lovely salesman who said he'd just add the points on without the test drive as long as I wasn't a mystery shopper! :j
Seems a bit strange though because, as others have said, the points are for booking a test drive not actually taking one.
He gave me a receipt to show the 10,000 points added and gave me the voucher back. Husband will now be booking a test drive which could be a mistake as he'll probably be talked into buying a new car!!
From past experience (husband takes work van to Ford for servicing etc) Nectar points have been added within 4 or 5 working days.chunky0 -
Has anyone else had a receipt to say the points will be addedThe curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0

Arrived at Ford, St.Albans armed with nectar card, driving licence, and coupon. Met by a lovely receptionist and asked to wait for 5 mins as all sales men were busy and then met by a crabby old sales woman. Wouldnt have any of it!
I told her i was genuinely interested in updating my Fiesta (which I had bought at that garage new 5 years ago) to a Focus 1.6 and asked if they would trade in mine. I mentioned I also happened to have the voucher and perhaps she could just put it through or if not I would love to test drive the Focus....she then said I wouldnt be able to do this until at least next week and then the offer was off!
I said hang on look I am thinking of spending £10K with you, and you are sending me away.....I said perhaps Vauxhall next door showroom could fit me in to talk about selling me a car. She said she would phone if she got a vacancy! Im not holding my breath.
I was annoyed as I have already said I got my Fiesta there 5 years ago and go there for services and 3 years before this got an Escort from there so felt there was no loyalty. OK Im not planning to get a new car until this one drops dead on me but she didnt know that!
Oh well you win some you lose some! Just off to Boots to try and cheer myself up by getting some bargains there!;)0 -

The offer is for booking a test drive this week it doesn't say anything about actually taking the test drive this week. I think you have been fobbed off. I would try again or phone the main Ford office and explain how you have been treated. I think someone else has already done this already on the thread.
Don't give up at the first hurdle you are as entitled to the points as everyone else. If they didn'y want anyone to take up the offer then why put it on in the first place.
Good luck0
