And the better shape economys are China and other emerging economies.
I think we have it easy compared to their average workers.
Problem is with this country is people think/belive they have it worse than anyware else. The truth is we have it easier than any time in history. Compare working ours now to 30/40/50 years ago and the stanadard of living.
Daily mail as a lot to answer for.
W have it different. e.g. working hours, holiday time etc. Someways suit some people: the thing is when you move it isn't all the good bits of here and all the good bits of their, its THAT lifestyle, for better and worse. What people need to work out is what is better and worse for them. Living in Littl Britain abroad would, IMO, be the exception: you'd have the worst of both worlds
re who'd have us: everywhere, it feels like! its bloody impossible to get away from British people and shops selling Mamite and PG tips for the equivalent of a tenner.0 -

True how may times do you go on holiday no matter how remote and you bump in to someone you know.
We are everywhere (but mainly in countries which serve alcohol).
My view on life is you have to work hard initialy if you dont want to work hard in the future.
I think it is to much to expect a good standard of living for as little work as possible. Mainly due to the fact you have to be exploiting someone somewhere to be funding it (eg £1 T shirt made in a sweat shop.)
I hate to break it to the UK haters.
There is no goose that lays the golden egg:)

Why would any Country want to accept the kind of whinging losers on this board who not only cannot afford to get on the Homeowners ladder here, but also blame everyone but themselves for their own shortcomings?
You are not an asset to this country,so why do you believe you would be an asset in a country where all you can provide is proof of failure.
Oh and for all you Web IT Guys, most countries including and especially the USA recruit exclusivley from Bangalore, because quite simply the indian programmers are the best in the world.
Stay home and hope the system will bail you out is my advice.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

The thread is about advising your kids to emigrate - not yourself.
Sorry - you can think what you like, but Indian programmers are not the best in the world by a long chalk - but they are the cheapest. And often you get what you pay for. Some are good - but a lot aren't.
The very good ones are hired by the big boys anyway and get the paid the same money as any other good programmer.
BTW, I would advise my kids to emigrate if they wanted to - they are still young and have a lot their working lives in front of them. If they think they can make better lives for themselves and their children - go for it. If it was somewhere nice and warm - OH and I could go as hangers on.0 -
Well, I don't need a programmer, whether they're from Bangalore or Bangor.
To return to the theme of this thread, I wouldn't advise my kids to do anything. They've gone out there and made their own choices, just like I did.
The difference is that I had lots of advice, and it was rubbish.:p Parents may be well-meaning, but too often they foist their own aspirations on their offspring.
From a purely selfish, personal point of view, I'd not wish my children to emigrate, but the last thing I'd do is tell them that.;)0 -

You sum up my view on parenting, but I have to admit to the board I do tell my child what to do. Especially on teeth cleaning and jumping on the sofa
(but I hope that will pass when he is over 5:)) 0 -
