Sounds like a great result TomsMom!
Glad to hear that Bertie is supposed to be in the bag!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
I used to love the blue Berties that were made of jelly like stuff - now they are just boring black liquorice.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member No.11.

Well, you learn something new every day!
I wonder if Cadburys would have known what I meant when I said there was no Bertie and no spogs :rotfl: .
Hey, I just googled spogs and they're also known as jelly buttons and horse cakes!
I really don't think I should have done that, I've now found lots of places to buy them online.

I live on the edge of Pontefract and every year we have a liquorice festival and this year you could get bags of just the Bertie basset sweets on one of the stalls. One of the other dangerous about living here as well is it's the home of Haribo so cheap sweets all round from the factory shopIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

Lol, maybe
Since I was a very small child I've known them as Spogs. They were one of my Dad's favourites and a fight over them would usually ensue at christmas time
Last box we had here seemed to be full of them. I liberated them all before OH got to them :rotfl:
Oh, and Hoyles, look on the bright side, all that liquorice keeps you regular lol0 -
We fight over who gets the first sniff of a newly opened bag or box, the second sniff is never as good :rotfl: .
I wish I lived near Pontefract.0 -
I'm still waiting on my reply from cadbury
.
Just a thought about the spogs...am I the only one who sucks the bobbles off until I just have the jelly bit in my mouth then chew it?
I don't like to just crunch them.0
