What makes you reach for a drink?
Is it to temporarily numb the emotional pain, to shut up the bad thoughts? A break from the tedium called life?
I feel 14 years old when I drink and the world seems trouble free.An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
To stop me feeling inadequate, inferior, useless.
To make me feel brave enough to cope, to feel confident.0 -
most of the above two posts.:o0

To be honest it became habit as well, driving home, buy a bottle
It's when you have a drink for breakfast, that you should really, really start to worry.

I feel 14 years old when I drink and the world seems trouble free.lucky you. towards the end of my drinking i had to drink. leid to my self that it would be one but i knew i could'nt just have one ever. my alergy set in then. and it was out of my control. once it becomes physically addictive when i would do almost anything to get it as i didnt want to go into withdrawal. of course there are different kinds of drinkers that come under the alcoholic mushroom. this was just me.
so are you saying you drink to feel young of that you drink to fell "trouble free"?If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0 -

That and I totally agree with Als post as well.
I don't know if anyone here reads the social phobia thread, but I post on there about mine. I have a great fear of people in a social arena, I get tongue tied and (just refer to Als post ok) anyway, yesterday I went to a restaurant for the first time in years and the first time without feeling like I am going to die for roughly 10 years.
Today I had a baked potato in Asda
Neither places had alcohol, which helped, I don't like smelling it.
So I guess I'm feeling good, but my plan is to go out everyday this week, so its the pub tomorrow for a coffee and then a meal on Wednesday in a pub. I am now getting very nervous about it.
