  • I started drinking after my dad died when I was 13.........probably a mixture of a sudden lack of parental control......sadness/upset at losing dad.........numbing the pain etc.........stress at having to deal with mum and her illness and all that entails...and my bro with all of his problems......now....I've only got to feel slightly wound up or stressed out to have/want a drink..........and it is BLOODY hard to not give in:mad:

I'm the same, although its starting to get better, if you work through it a few times, you know you can make it to the other side and the world will still be there.
The craving goes away in the end.

I know.......how many times do you have to work through it though!!...I've done pretty well at times....and then something happens to make me think f**k it! I don't do anything else!

Oh do you know....it's like I've just heard my mum talking:eek: i.e. 'it's all I've got'... Oh quick...if I turn in to that woman.......someone shoot me!

Quick...words of advice.....THAT bro is on line....and I am SOOOOOOOOO in the mood for giving him a rollicking!.....after being arsey to my sis a couple of weeks ago.....going on about how much he cares for mum (who he rarely visits or keeps in touch with....and who he 'doesn't want to die alone'....etc etc ....and who he loves 'sooooooooo much'....just found out he hasn't even bothered calling her the last few weeks.... )...and she's been in hospital with chest pains etc...she has COPD (V.bad chest).....we will no doubt get the blame for not keeping him informed on that score aswell:mad:

When my family wind me up, I just ignore them, don't contact them at all. If they then ring and say, why haven't you rung, I'll just say, well you didn't ring me either.
Sounds like your brother winds you up alot, I don't think thats good.

True!...he's only just come on MSN....not made contact or anything....and my heart rate is already going for the fight or flight thing!...Although...the mood I'm in....he might get it with both barrels...but knowing him....he won't come back at me....he'll have a go at sis....apparently I don't have a brain or opinion of my own ( at nearly 33???) sis is to blame for brainwashing me:rolleyes:

I said hello the other day on MSN...and he ignored me and went off line....that's why I'm thinking of being a bit more 'provocative' in my tone....I want a response!
