  • well, thanks for all your support. going to bed now so just had the one glass about 200 -250 mls, tho had a bottle and half last night. Tomorrow will be hard but i know the amount i drink is not good for me long term. I have put on a lot of weight gradually over the years of prolonged drinking. i think for the first time i think maybe i can fight this and the thought of posting my drinking amounts on here in black and white will force me to limit or stop heavy drinking. thanks again ..talk to you all soon

Morning all, been in and out today/yesterday.

Not convinced I'm that much of a hero for people to aspire to be like though, but thanks for the vote of confidence beer ;)

Feelie, you're never that far away from either a hug or a slap :)

    Jayne's pretty normal (ish).

Welcome again(?) blondie. What ABV was your wine, think the calc is ABV*mls/1000 = units, which can be scarey. But if you do spirits, it tells you on the bottle, just to keep it simple. do the whole bottle:o

The difference between me and most of the people I work with, I worked out I drank to much, they still do:j And I'd say a few do have a problem:eek:
  • normal ish mmmm i think im borderline insane but thanks i can cope with normal ish hee hee::) I am now going to bed nite all
  • Hiya peeps.. Glad to see you're all fighting and keeping on. Feelie....... you CAN do this. Lots of bumps in the road and this is just another one :)

I've realised something quite scary about myself. I very rarely drink, most of the time I don't even enjoy it but......... if I'm in the right mood then I just don't stop til I'm at the falling down and making a fool of myself stage :/ Trouble is.. I don't realise it at the time.. and by the time I do.. it's too late :/

I drank to get drunk - no other reason. I hate the taste of alcohol, and don't miss it. I miss the escape though.
I did all I could to get as drunk as I could, sneaky ways of getting more drinks in, lying about how many shots of vodka I had in my drink and things. HIding drink is something I did a lot too. I've got an 'emergency' bottle of vodka that no one knew about - couldn't risk anyone drinking it, just incase I 'needed' a drink when the shops were shut.

This is something I'm starting tomorrow - fun little pack thats supposed to give you a bit of a boost when giving things up - and you get to wear a badge!! Its a 42 day thing, you get a bracelet thing, and a dairy and stuff. I'm not using it to monitor giving up drinking, or smoking. Using it for another addiction, should be interesting to see if it helps!

What are your plans for tonight blondie?
