jayne.doe wrote:how are you now chris, ? I am 8 days in and nearly sucumbed today the good old boys from gordons decided to send me a taster of some gin i was so tempted. The bloody o/h nicked it and made himself and large g and t and now he has stopped, i knew if i had that i would want more.... so i walked away and its hard isnt it?
Hiya Jayne....I'm well thankyou:D 3 days no drinking..but then it is only Wednesday isn't it! Have been tempted...usually when peeved off in work...or stressing about my mum and stuff.....
Have to say....I got my sensible head back on Monday......then again, I always do after drinking too much! All the reasons for giving up etc etc...health, memory, quality of life, health, money, health etc:o But even with all those sensible reasons for not drinking...urge is there at the slightest provocation:rolleyes:
I'm like you...can't stop at one....if I open a bottle, I usually only stop because ....actually...don't know why? It's kind of like a switch trips, and I turn off....quite literally!
Anyway...apologies for rambling....and well done so far:T0 -
Hi chris, your trying, its not easy, its generally an up and down ride for people, you feel totally sensible after drinking, its just 2 days later, when you convince yourself otherwise you have a problem. I think we all go through it.
Umm FG isn't wi-wii the new console from Nintendo, I think you're getting a bit mixed up.
Smoking was good today thankyou

Right decision...you are doing well...keep it up;)feelinggood wrote:Coping - honestly, I am just happy. I don't know what it is, but something has clicked in to place, this just feels right - everything is falling in to place, and I know its my time to tackle this problem - hard to explain without going all relgiously and talking about wu-wei and all that lol. Don't think you'd appreciate that!.
Nice when you feel like that isn't it?...I have days like that occasionally....and I feel completely contented with life, happy, just in the right place........I've come to the conclusion that this is my brains natural drugs getting me to chill out...need to find out how to make them work more often:D0 -

I think it feels extra wonderful at the moment, as I was in the middle of a very dark depression.
Actually, maybe this antidepressants just really work for me :rotfl:

christmas is hardest i think. you got to have your exit strategies. you have to remember why you stopped, ive only had one christmas morning without a monstrous hangover, my daughters 11. i think she deserves me sober too. (and not reeking of stale wine or refusing to get up).0 -

Must admit, first thing I thought when I read that was the character off Little Britain...the ex-childrens entertainer who would say wickywoo:o
I'll have something about this in one of my books...sure of it....I've got books on every other self help...spiritual help...life coaching blah blah, so I must have....
Now if I ever actually APPLIED what I had learnt from these books, I would now be completey zen:p so, back to my books for me:o

I had a terrible night, DD was awake half the night crying, upset because christmas isn't here yet, unfortunately I also was having a bad night and suffering from a bad temper, I had to work hard at being normal. Feel alot better this morning, yet another hangover free morning
