  • Hi Everyone, I haven't had a drink since last thursday, and have no cravings really, just don't feel like one. Fg I,m sorry that you are feeling so down, but only you can find the strengh to do what you have to do, to get yourself better, I walked away after 22 years of bullying, not being spoken to, he was never physically cruel, just emotionaly, to the point where I ended up losing myself, I drank every night, and he encouraged it, only to then tell me I was an alcoholic, useless, no one else would have me etc etc, and I believed him because I adolised him, then we had the most horrid holiday, they wouldn't let him on the plane cos they said he was drunk, and of cousre it was all my fault, so I came home alone, and that's when I left, it broke my heart, eventualy moved away from area, but still kept in touch as we had a 16yr old he stayed with his dad, he still had me though and my drinking was out of control, then I met my OH, god what a change, treated me like a Queen, but couldn't understand why so still kept drinking, anyway 1st husband became very ill, he had a brain tumour, went down to see him, and he knew he wasn't long and guess what he apologised to me for everything he had done, and that he had driven me to drink so much and asked me to forgive him, which I did, he died soon after, what goes around comes around, I don't mean that nasty wise, Fg you need to take control of your life, it's yours not his. sorry for the long post

Hi jayne, glad you keep coming back.
I've had an awful temper tonight as well, snapping at the OH. Must be the first ciggie problems.
Funny Al, my skin always gets better when I don't drink. However my body did get used to getting most of its water through my time drinking in the evenings. When I cut the drinking down, I used to get terribly dehydrated as I hadn't increased the other drinks I had.

Jayne, try not to say how nice you think a drink would be and talk about it as it really is, a abuser, a deciver, a killer......

Feelie, I don't know what to say....... but I know when you say everyone hates you, it can hurt the people on here, just keep that in mind.

Hi gert, great that you haven't had a drink for a week, is that quite common for you by the sound of it?

Sounds good Jayne, I'm actually £100 overdrawn on my personal allowance at home this year, thats with cut down drinking, imagine what it was like before.

Als right with the drug thing, I've taken that omega 3 oil stuff, it does tend to brighten you up a bit.

You're right about the smoking and the drinking, it is a bit much at once, but I've been drunk about 4 times in 4 years without smoking, if I can manage to do it this time, its going to make not drinking so much easier, hopefully. :)

  • i hope you succeed o/h was a real smoker and the physical withdrawal symptoms he faced was not nice. He said he could not go back to smoking again as he couldnt do the withdrawal again. I think i am just begining to understand what he meant. Omega 3 oil stuff? We spent huge amounts on drink and placed a lot on credit cards, i put away 8 pounds coz could not afford any more, if i put away the real amount we were spending i would be far better off than 20 pounds just needed an incentive. Hoping I might lose some weight as well - as was probably drinking around 1200 calories a day - a girl has gotta dream:)
