    Hi ac, Al,
Gave up smoking this morning (again) this time I think for good, different to the other times. Thats going to help me alot, big time help.
I know I'll feel down at some point, but I feel good today. Optimistic even.

    Hows it with you?

To be blunt, it isn't very good. But thenyou know that
Yes, I know its not very good. Point is, I thought you guys might be able to offer some advice or support rather than a telling off.

as you do to having a drink !!!!!!
Do you really think I'm not trying? I don't much like this being kicked when I'm down.

I am actually trying very hard. I'm getting somewhere too - you probably can't tell, but I am improving. Its only by a little bit, but I think I at least deserve some credit for that.

I'm not finding this easy you know, I'm struggling. I'm not as good at this as you guys are.

I'm not drunk now, thats reason enough to be pleased with myself I think. And I've been to 2 online meetings - thats a step isn't it? And, I've been planning how I'm going to ask my mum for advice. I am taking steps, and I would have thought that I'd get a little respect for that, not just a kick in the teeth everytime I stumble.

I'm sorry if thats too angry, or that you think I'm being dramatic - the point I'm trying to make is that I'd rather like it if you could show my the support and compassion that you show each other. Or, ask me to leave. Your choice.

You asked a question, you got an honest answer. Online meetings is great, excellent even. It isn't easy, we do know ;) Not being drunk is great. Not going out tonight will be great or if you do and stay sober, it will be great. But as lewt keeps trying to say to you, you are not really moving on. Sorry if I've been blunt, but I care and sometimes you have to say what you think :(

Trust me al mac, it doesn't help - not at all. Maybe thats just me being sensitive, but it doesn't help me.
Don't know what else to say. Wish I could find somewhere else to get support, but till I do, you lot are just going to have to put up with me ranting. Just wish you didn't all hate me so much.

I just feel like you don't support me like you support everyone else. Its hard to pinpoint, but I don't feel at all welcome.

I phoned my mum, and asked for her opinion on my drinking.
She said that no one else can really tell if you are an alcoholic, and that the only way to know for sure is to hit rock bottom. She said there are worrying things I do, but that could just be me leaning on drink while I'm battling the depression. I could tell she was getting uspet talking about it, so didn't carry the conversation on very long. She said I should try and cut down. Wasn't what I was expecting really, and wasn't what I was hoping for. She is visiting the weekend after next, and was hoping she'd suggest taking me to a meeting, but she didn't.
