Could quite easily turn around and say, look I've stopped, no problem. So then I'll go and have a drink, the question is would I end up like I was a year ago. Possibly not. Not a chance I want to take. The state I was in I wanted to die. Didn't like it, not going to risk it again.

I'm not saying drinking stopped all my problems, it has stopped them being masked, the problems I now have are the real me:o

theres alot of fear on this bored. weather people know it them sleves or not.

fellingood if you wanna leave him do it. it really is as simple as that it sounds like fear is stopping u.
i can tell you if you stop drinking and change your thinking you will havee a life beond you wildist dreams. im prove of that. i dont obbsess about drink or anything else really these days. the difference between me and others on this bored id that i needed to change my thinking not just stopp drinking in order to be happy.

imagine a drunken horse thief if you will?

take away the alcohol and what you got ? a horse theif.

i am so sorry feeling good, i suppose its even harder when you have no help. My o/h is a lovely person he changed my life for the better....simple as... but he has to know himself to stop drinking he is no way near as bad as me.. but he likes to drink. He is not my problem tho, my problem is me i think i was born with a self destruct button, my life has never been happier. so why do i drink? I DONT KNOW. feeling good have been with o/h for about 20 yrs but before that low self esteem issues made me fall for some very unsuitable men.. not saying thats your case but i feel a kindred spirit in u

Lewt what you say is so true, but fear and habit are a very powerful combination. The idea of change terrifies me and not just talking about drink either, its routine that keeps me going its the unknown i am scared of do you understand me or is that just nonsense

I understand jayne, fear of the unknown, a great motivator to drink as wll.

I know life is dealing with the unknown... that is life... just some of us need a little help ie a tipple hear or there or in my case everywhere:)

yea i know what you mean reading your text takes me back i dont think i could have spoken that honestly about the way i am before i sorted it.

belive it or not hearing it helps me. are you scared of whats going to happen tonight? from wgat i read your going to have a pasta meal with oh. nothing to fear there...? tomorrow is a different day. worry about that then. projection its called. i know these next 24hrs are going to be hard as your withdrawal will start. if your really worried go see a doctor he will prescibe you some thing to take the edge off.

i really would urge you to try to go to a meeting even an online1 here...

i will do that lewt. Unfortunatley cannot go to docs in middle of getting life insurance for remortgage they want to see my med records so ....:( No i have done the withdrawal once no sleep, mood swings, anger depression I NEED A DRINK FEEELING, just the one...... yeh i know what to expect:) usually sucumb tho
